What is Nintendo land?
There are a couple of demos, but not much. You Will find more demos in the shops.
Online playing is free.
You can use hd up to 2 GB to store games.
Wii emulation is bult in. You would need a wiimote though.
NintendoLand is a game (party style).
Everything else has been covered apart from you can use an external hard drive to store 2TB of data outside of the console, also you can't use that hardrive for anything else as it needs to be formatted for the Wii U especially.

Yes, the demos are upto ~5GB but no I can't send you the link because you can only play them on the Wii U.
Yes, no cost
Yes
If you mean Wii controllers? Yes.
No, just make sure you download the latest firmware updates
It's surprising the number of people who skipped that early high-school science lesson on SI prefixes...
I don't think anyone would finish middle school without knowing all of the prefixes up to tera/pico.
I don't think I was ever taught them, it was just assumed knowledge. That said I'm a bit of a techie, have always been into science. Knowing the difference between Kilo, Mega, Giga, Tera was necessary. Pretty sure I knew most of the common SI-Prefixes before I was 10.
Also when I said "early high-school" I meant year 8 or so because in Australia there isn't really such a thing as "middle school". It's 1-6/7 for primary school, 7/8-12 for high school. That's it. When you say middle school I literally have no idea what you're talking about
thanks to all have a wired internet can i use that are ther any system updates how big is the file and how long do that take to install
The firmware updates are small a couple hundred MB maximum. Also Nintendo Land is a really great game is shows off the power and unique aspects of the gamepad very well.

Even the most hardcore Nintendo fans don't know how to sell a Wii U properly
Fwiw, I've used computers for about 35 years (I have even used programs below 1 kB in size) and I stopped caring about prefixes about 25 years ago. Usually, there's only one prefix that logically fits during a certain time period for a certain media type. Good luck finding that 2 GB hard drive.

If you only have a wired Internet connection, you'll need a Wii U LAN Adapter like this one since the console doesn't have an Ethernet port. There are third party ones that are cheaper, but I don't know how well those work.

The 1.44 MB floppies came in the second wave on the PC in the mid 80s, and I think Apple used the same disc types but a different formatting. Prior to that (on the first 8088 models) the PC used the 5 1/4 inch 360 kB floppies. The smallest HDD I've encountered on the PC was at 10 MB (a huuuuuge storage space at the time), and today it's hard to find a PC game that doesn't exceed that size. The first "personal" computer (way before IBM PC) stored BASIC programs on a cassette tape (using serial communication, one single BIT at a time at an extremely slow speed). Technology have improved since then...

An alternative to a LAN adapter on the Wii U is a WiFi router for your LAN, since the Wii U has WiFi support. (We're playing Mario Kart 8 online through WiFi and it works very well.) However, a LAN adapter would give you superior performance.
My Parents brought us a Commodore Vic 20 with tape deck. A few years later the old man brought a C64 Pro pack from K-Mart. Those were the days. 5 and a 1/4 bendy disks, covered in pirated games well before anyone knew the consequences of such nefarious behaviour, then there was that english one - the spectrum right? had its own disk types. And how has it all ended up, lurking round a forum board telling a young fella to buy a WIi-U.
OP - Ignore us old farts.
But if you have the money and want to try it out, just get one. It is fun to play wii u games.
If you live by a Target you should check out their ad that starts tomorrow. Wii U with Mario and Luigi U - $275. Plus they have buy 2 get 1 free on all Wii U games. If you buy Mario Kart 8, you could have 5 games and a new system for about $400.
