My birthday's in a month and with money from my family I plan on getting a white wii u, games, controllers, etc and I was watching an unboxing video on youtube when i realized there aren't any of the red, yellow and white cables! I did a little research and found that the cable it comes with only works with HD TVs. WHICH I DON'T HAVE!! So what do I do? I don't want to have to get a new tv, so is there some way I can still hook the wii u up to my plain old tv?

I had this problem when i got my Wii U for christmas last year and looks like your going to have to talk to your parents about getting a new tv. I wish you the best of luck.

Just buy AV cables for it. It even works with the ones that came with the Wii if you still have them: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/system_au...

Do you have a Wii? The Wii U can use the same cables as the Wii

Ok, thank you both. I feel A LOT better about this topic now. I'll just buy an av(I forgot the name, thanks for telling me CanisWolfred) cable when I get my wii u.
And I had a wii long ago, but it broke so I trashed it(along with the cables.)

BTW, you don't want Component Cables since those are usually for HDTVs, too.

Wait a minute! To anyone who may know, is the 'av' cable from gamecube the same as the wii/wii u one(if this sounds stupid, forgive me because I'm not very tech savy,) because I have a gamecube.

No, definitely not. They're very different connectors.

Or you can buy 3rd party:

Are these the same? Because they're a lot cheaper then the ones that SCAR392 recomended. BTW thank you for the links.

3rd party, but they should work

Those should be fine.

Yeah...Nintendo Store's overpricing those things, IMO. Those Amazon cables aren't the same ones, though. The reviews all sound nice, though (seriously, the only ones with less than 1 star that I saw had virtually nothing to do with the cable itself), and it is cheap. It's up to you, but if it were me, I'd risk it.
