People on this site don't like it because it's so well received by critics and its sales are grand.

I hate when people say Twilight Princess is "just a bigger version" of Ocarina of Time. People could easily argue every single Zelda game is just a "new" Link to the Past. Twilight Princess is in no way Ocarina of Time.

I'm not in the mood, but I have friends who could easily prove that it is.

Except that it clearly isn't but bless them for trying :)

Let's see, in Ocarina of Time.

-There is no Midna
-There isn't a Twilight realm
-There isn't transforming into a wolf
-There isn't two villains
-There isn't a Snow Peak ruins
-There isn't a city in the sky
-There isn't an arbiter's grounds
-There isn't on-horse battles on Hyrule Field

I could keep going, but for real. They're different games. Yes there's quite a few Ocarina of Time homages in Twilight Princess that hark back to the game : Epona, Castle Town, Sacred Grove, to name a few. But that in no way means that Twilight Princess is just a "bigger, better" version of Ocarina of Time.

You could argue that because Zelda splits the timeline and sends Link back as a child, the same child Link seen in MM, that there are technically 2 villains in OoT. The other being Skull Kid.

How is Skull Kid a villain in Ocarina of Time? You could say so in Majora's Mask, yes, but not in Ocarina of Time, I can't agree.

Skull kid is in the same timeline as young Link in both OoT and MM. Link meets skull kid in OoT first. Adult Link Defeats Ganon. Zelda splits the timeline and sends young Link back in time before he defeated Ganon. In this timeline, young Link's villain is Skull Kid. He never fought Ganon.

Yes, skull kid isn't a villain in OoT but follow the storyline and he actually is. Just not yet. Young Link's timeline in OoT continues right into MM remember? I am fully aware that you don't fight skull kid in OoT but based on the split timeline, he is a villain.

There is also more than one skull kid in Ocarina of Time.

Yup. Ignore the physical games and follow the actual storyline

When Zelda split the timeline she has OoT young Link moving to MM and adult Link moving to TP. Skull kid is in both as a villain. In both situations, because young and adult Link met skull kid both as a child in OoT, it's the same skull kid that appears in both games.
Regardless of exactly where skull kid appeared as a villain in young Link's timeline, he was a villain technically from the outset in OoT. Young Link never fought Ganon in OoT, he fought skull kid in OoT during the events of MM.

@Mercury
I thought it went
Child Timeline (goes back in time and warns Zelda): MM-> TP
Adult Timeline (kills Gannon, he returns later): WW-> PH-> ST

WW is the last in the series so far as Hyrule is flooded completely and makes sense as the Link in WW is just following on in the tradition of Adult OoT Link. It basically explains that in the opening! Ganon however, is the same Ganon from adult Link's timeline in OoT. Adult Link from OoT at this point is presumed to have passed away.

Nintendo didn't help the whole timeline thing by suggesting that the skeleton that teaches adult Link in TP, The same Adult Link from OoT, is in fact Adult Link from OoT.....
Your're teaching yourself basically!

But this is the timeline theory. Some may believe in the legend theory that is literally different takes on what would be SS Link's adventures. Adventures carried down over time. It's a bit confusing lol

Mercury, are you forgetting the ACTUAL TIMELINE RELEASED BY NINTENDO?

Because WW is what happens when Adult Link kills Gannon, and then is sent back in time and removed from existence (more specifically, this timeline). So when Gannon returns, there is no Hero of Time to stop him, so the gods (the sages perhaps?) flooded Hyrule.

In the kid timeline, Link was sent back to before he met Zelda, and then warned her of Gannondorf's actions, showing how he is "executed" in TP. From there, Kid Link goes to Termina in Majora's Mask, and then long after the events of Twilight Princess take place.

Stop theorizing and forfeit to the design of the creators.

EDIT: you've deleted your post...crafty.

Not crafty :P
I read the concern of this going off topic and removed my comment. It was a whopper!

I'd like MM remade. Not necessarily in HD but given the same overhaul as OoT3D
Personally for me, MM is the ugliest Zelda of them all which is a shame because it's fantastic. It deserves a facelift. The other games are holding up ok for now. WW never seems to age!

I'd like Kirby 64 remade.
Not just because I haven't played, but because of my friend who says it's one of the single best games ever.

I'm inclined not to disagree with him. I don't like bullet wounds.
