@shingi_70 When? Every single time I watched the treehouse it was them showing off a Wii U game (splatoon most likely lol). EDIT: And iirc Monster Hunter 4 was announced for the west before E3.

They showed Fantasy Life earlier yesterday and today,Monster Hunter last night before the round table, and they're showing codename steam right now.

Capcom announced MH4 back in January, so it doesn't count as an announcement and Fantasy Life has been out since 2012 in Japan. While I'm ecstatic it's coming here, we've known about it for a while. Really, in terms of announcements we got some translations and project Steam.

who cares about nnoucments when were getting the games either way. The 3DS successor will probably be announced soon, so between that, QOL,and the Wii U expect the 3DS to coast on translations and indie games.

@shingi_70 The 3DS was announced at E3 2010, so if the 3DS gets 5 years, the new console will be announced next E3. If this is the 3DS last year before Nintendo starts pulling support and moving it to the successor, then this is a pretty poor swansong.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

E3 completely changed me on the Xbox One. Looks like it will actually be a good gaming console after all with Sunset Overdrive, Crackdown, and indie games. I gained respect for Microsoft this E3.
Also gained more respect for Nintendo and am FINALLY glad I got a Wii U. Seriously, if anyone has seen my posts when it was new you know I absolutely trash the Wii U but Splatoon, Kirby, Smash, Bayonetta, Yoshi, it's all looking so good. Plus, if I'm not mistaken, not one single remake. Bravo Nintendo.

Basically this. Before E3, I just thought the XB1 was a weaker PS4 that would have a worse game library. It wasn't a bad assumption considering Sony tends to dominate Microsoft in the 1st party arena. But after Sony's embarassing showing, Microsoft proved to me that they can support their system.

And yeah, before E3, the Wii U was below the PS3 and many other non-gaming things on my purchase priority list. Now it's at the top.

SUPER happy with Nintendo, and pretty darn happy with Microsoft, as well. Sony kind of confirmed the lack of a PS4 in my life for now, unfortunately. I'll probably get a PS3 before a PS4.

Sony hasn't changed at all, for better or worse.

Microsoft at least has a chance to be a better gaming company now.

Nintendo can actually have new IPs and let people know they have them.

I'm more positive about Nintendo now. They surprised me the most and I feel like they can absolutely flip the Wii U around if they try, which they are clearly interested in doing. They just showed games. And they majorly showed games that you can't get anywhere else (aside from Bayonetta 1). They're willing to laugh at themselves and their mistakes, they aren't taking themselves too seriously, and I like that attitude as it's much more approachable and welcoming.

My attitude towards the Xbox One also changed. I view it less negatively and I think they showed off some cool games. Sunset Overdrive made me reconsider the XB1. If they did a system redesign, I'd consider it even more (it's too large and bulky for the shelf space that I currently have available). The XB1 is also $50 cheaper in Canada compared to the PS4.

PS4 rubbed me the wrong way this time around. I'll still get a PS4 (I'm an Uncharted fangirl), but I think they felt a little too comfortable going into E3.

So basically.... I never regretted my Wii U purchase, and Nintendo makes me even happier to own the system. And 2015 is still the year to buy an XB1/PS4.

I don't think the 3DS is going anywhere for many years to come. Successor shouldn't be announced before 2017 IMO.
They simply had to shift more focus to the Wii U. No need for alarm.
They're banking on two punches with Smash Bros. and Pokemon, and they're coming off all the Kirby, Mario Golf, Tomodachi Life.... and they even found time with a new IP, Steam... so I think it's in very good hands... with third parties still in like Pheonix Wright and Fantasy Life, I'd say the console is booming.

Microsoft: About the same. They're still showing a lot of games where the image (that is, its graphics or its public perception as a "mature" game) is more important than the gameplay. Still preying on people's ignorance by presenting multiplats as if they're only available on the XBox, just like they do in their ads. Still too many shooters.

Sony: My opnion hasn't changed so much as I've been reminded that, beyond the same overproduced yearly sequels that afflict Microsoft's console and the tripe that Naughty Dog puts out these days, they do have some good games. LBP3 looks fun, and spending so much time on No Man's Sky was a cool move (even if it is a multiplat, I believe).

Nintendo: More optomistic. My favorite developer already, this E3 showed that they're working hard on bringing lots of quality games to the Wii U. New Star Fox, a Canvas Curse sequel, Splatoon looks great. The Smash tourney is the kind of event Nintendo should have been doing for a long time now. They seem to be working hard to please the fans.

You're making some assumptions here. For starters, there's nothing indicating that the 3DS is in its final stretch. I find it unlikely that a successor will be unveiled next year. Momentum and sales are still in full swing. It's not slowing down.

And you seem to be saying that it doesn't matter that there's a dozen new games lined up for 3DS because only E3 reveals count. By that logic, Nintendo should just stop announcing games the other 362 days of the year. Save them all for E3. That's all that matters.

No. Maybe I've garnered slightly more respect for Microsoft and Nintendo, and slightly less for Sony, but overall I'd say my opinions are still the same.

I don't think its unlikely that Nintendo may mention a new handheld in the works in the year to come. I wouldn't expect a proper announcement until 2016, though, which could be great timing, if the Fusion rumors substantiate. They can kill 1st party on the 3DS in 2016 and let third party see it out the door while the get a good launch library ready for the launch in 2017 our 2018.

Also, I think now would be a great time to say.. Told ya so! Nintendo exceeded even my expectations and it was amazing. Also, kudos to MS. Saving up for an XO, now.

Sales have slowed down hugely. It's sold half what it did by June last year, and Nintendo were disappointed last year. I don't see why people expect the 3DS to go on longer than a Nintendo handheld usually goes on for.

Was actually really impressed by Nintendo's Digital Event. The Robot Chicken segments and how they pointed fun at themselves was awesome. What about that Reggie and Iwata fight scene?

Apart from Zelda, best thing about that was Splatoon. Unexpected and looks super fun.

My opinion is the same, but has become stronger for what I find worthwhile.

Nintendo - More games, new IPs, Starfox, updates on what is still being developed. Rating: A

Microsoft - Actually showed some freaking games, more games, the show itself was entertaining(IMO) Rating: B

Sony - Showed LBP 3, payed for a handful of indies, reboots, The Order is an interactive movie. Rating: D+

EA and Ubisoft releasing the same s*** as always, excpet a few things. When are people gonna get sick of AC and let something new happen? Rating: D

Didn't watch Activision's thing, but CoD will come out this fall. Rating: Pending, probably D

Since everything has gotten a D rating or higher from me, this E3 was a success

I think it's a little bit too early to judge the Order right now. I agree with everything else regarding Microsoft and Nintendo though.

My thoughts stayed the same for all three. I knew Microsoft and Nintendo were going to have a good showing, and I wasn't at all disappointed with what I saw. My expectations for Sony at E3 weren't that high at all, especially when I heard that they weren't going to be showing some of their stuff. Nintendo actually sold me on the Wii U though. Since the show, I have been day dreaming about the Wii U non stop and I can't wait to get my hands on one.

I only watched the Nintendo Digital event, but the gushing positive praise towards Xbox One and Sunset Overdrive encouraged me to check out a clip of the game on YouTube. What the flagnard! That looks insanely fun. I understand now.
My son keeps bugging me for an Xbox and now this game pops up. Hmm, was going to go PS4 thanks to Arkham Knight but MS wins. Only just, thanks to having Rare's IP's. Unless Sony announce new Twisted Metal and Wipeout (nostalgia is strong for those 2), then I'm stuffed.

I don't know how old your son is, but Sunset Overdrive definitely isn't a kid's game.

In the trailer, the main character was dropping F-bombs left & right.

Game does look awesome, but the overly foul language doesn't seem to make sense, though. Looks like it'd make an amazing "T" title without it, but they're just shoehorning it in to up the rating to "M".

Other than that, game has me stoked.
