Topic: Has the Wii LAN Adapter been discontinued?

I've looked around Nintendo online store for this product, and I can't find it. What happened to it? Has it been discontinued? I want one to make a wired connection for my Wii U.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

Don't worry about it. You can use pretty much any USB LAN adapter for that - it's not a Nintendo-specific thing.

I've heard that the official one works better than the 3rd-party's. That's why I thinking about buying one.

I think I had that at one point, wasn't compatible with vista so I guess it's been discontinued by now.

Everything can change, but I'm never changing who I am

There was a Wii LAN adapter? I'd always heard of them in the instruction manuals, but I never figured they might actually be real.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I'm thinking that maybe with Smash Bros. release date is near, Nintendo is working on creating a new LAN Adapter that's optimized with the Wii U.

That's not what he's referring to. The LAN adapter connects a Wii and Wii U to an ethernet cable.

They might be revising it and then release it again before Smash Bros. for Wii U comes out.

Sakurai did say that recommends using the LAN adapter when playing online.

I don't think it needs a revision. It's not like the US's internet speeds are amazing.

I've read somewhere that Wii LAN adapter uses USB 1.0 instead of 2.0, which really affect the DL/UL speed.

If that's true, then the adapter can sustain a rate of 12 Mbps. That really isn't a deal breaker since a majority of people (in the US) don't have internet that fast.

I am one of the lucky few that gets true Fiber to the door (50 mbps for $45/mo) thanks to a local utility. I've gone from 10 mbps bi-directional, to 20 mbps and now to 50 mbps for the same price. It's amazing what competition does for both service quality and pricing.

It's unfortunate that most of the US doesn't have similar competition in the marketplace.

Where I live, the fastest connection we can get is 8 Megabyte, but it's so expensive since it's an ADSL internet service, where there is unlimited bandwidth and no download cap.
