Now that Smash 4 Evo is over has it changed your opinion on how competitively viable Smash 4 is? If so, for better or worse?

Yes, it has. It's worse than I judged based on framedata. Many of the matches in Smash 4 consisted of spamming the ever-same attack and a lot of baiting nobody fell for. They were playing too safely, it was just awfully boring to watch. Granted, Melee didn't fare much better this year (too much spam and ledge-blocking for my taste), but those matches felt like they had a lot more actual combat, at least.

smash 4 is very entertaining. if you think it's boring, might i suggest opening your eyes when viewing the match?

it's easy to be a noob online and dis the metagame of a fighter that is like 10 months old. imagine what melee looked like 10 months in (it was worse, if you didn't know). if you really look at it there are already some ridiculously exciting kids coming through smash 4, emphasis on kids because i can't believe how young they're getting! but i guess you go back to melee again, the pros of today were all pimply 15 year olds developing the meta game once too!

People will say Smash 4 is bad but will continue to watch it and play it.

Smash 4 is awesome to me.

Nope.

Smash 4 still feels like a faster, more-balanced Brawl due to the amount of movement options. ZeRo dominating is proof of that. Thinking three steps ahead of your opponent still trumps on-the-fly decision-making and custom combos. You just have to think faster in Smash 4 than Brawl.

Smash 4 is more fun. I am disappointed that the matches are only 2 stock. I wish they were 3, I know it would make the matches longer but I like longer matches. I think endurance should be a big part of a match, the over-all tournament might be a test of endurance but each match having that would be fantastic. Maybe just do 2 lives in pools then up it to 3 with a 10 minute timer for top 32/16/8 however many. 1 Reason why I feel people like Melee more (as a spectator) is the back and forth with the stocks. With 2 stock there is so little back and forth. ZeRo dominating is just like Ken dominating in Melee for years, right?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@DefHalan: if I'm right Melee matches were at 2 stocks at the beginning? Then they increased the stocks, I think it takes time for them to increase the stocks for a match in smash 4. Maybe next evo smash 4 matches will be at 3 or 4 stocks. It will increase eventually.

Melee was originally 3 stocks on one US coast, and 5 stocks on the other. When they went against each other, they each wanted their rules. They made a compromise at 4 stocks, and the rest is history.
