What do you all think of the new hardcore games not only on the way with the Wii U, but also with the 3DS?

What are "hardcore" games?
I miss Japanese games, the good stuff... Games that are imaginative, have good and unique gameplay, a great soundtrack, and replay value.

If you are just a Wii owner for the past generation of videogaming, you would have noticed that the Wii missed out on a lot of M rated and action oriented games. Those are the hardcore games. Which is why it gives Nintedo a bad rep, because everone sees Nintendo as a family oriented E for all game system.

I thought this whole dividing line issue between"Hardcore" and "Casual" games had been buried. Seems I was wrong D:

Has anyone noticed besides me how many games, especially first person shooters that were only for 360 and PS3 and not for Wii.

You are so wrong. The Wii has been the most successful gaming console this generation. The reason why the Wii's classified as average in any way, shape or form is the lack of variety. RPG's, FPSs, multi-platform games, Third Person Shooters, and serious downloadable titles like Super Meat Boy and Limbo all fall pale in comparison to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Just for you.

It mostly had to do with the fact that the wii didn't have the power to play a lot of good games on the Wii, but now the Wii U is going to change that problem.

There's no such thing as hardcore games, only hardcore gamers! I thought this was behind us.

Is "hardcore" another way of saying FPS?
13. Posted: Fri 2nd Sep 2011 00:59 BST
I am not wrong at all, it is the gosh darned truth, I love the Wii and hate 360 and PS3. Do you have any idea how many games were passed up on the wii because it wasn't powerful enough or because the developers didn't think it would sell well on a family oriented console.

Give me Metroid Prime 3 over any other PS3 FPS shooter game I own.

And it is true because they have given gamse such a chance in No more Heroes and MadWorld and Dead Space Extraction, but no one would buy them which is why they don't make many hardcore games for the Wii.
16. Posted: Fri 2nd Sep 2011 01:02 BST
I thought people didn't buy those because they thought they were lame.

@RynoI love MP as well but we have missed sooo many games that could have been very very fun.

The Wii did miss out on the some awesome games, but that doesn't make it any less "hardcore."
When girls want to come over and party, and I have my Wii sitting here with Just Dance 2 guess what they want to do? The Wii attracts everyone and even though it lacks in some departments I can say the PS3 and Xbox 360 lack in areas as well.
19. Posted: Fri 2nd Sep 2011 01:04 BST
Well, I have a PS3 as well and I dont think you have missed out on too much really.

@RynoAnd no Hardcore is not another way of saying FPS. Like the COD games are hardcore, Gears of War is hard core, Infamous is hardcore.
