It's the worst name for a console ever. I swear Nintendo's giving stuff bad names. Come ON Nintendo, can't you think of something better?

You know, the Wii U's not the only thing with a bad name. Think of Mario Kart 7. 7? Sure, it's the seventh Mario Kart game, but give it a real name instead of a number name (For example, something like Mario Kart: Grand Prix).

The name never really bothered me. Probably because I like the meaning behind it. At the same time, I do wish they would have called it something totally different, then again, Playstation 4 isn't much creative at all- unless Sony names it something else just like they did with PSP's successor, Vita (something I've gotten used to and another name I like because what it means).

Wii U is starting to mildy grow on me, but it's hands down the most uninspired, lamest & generic Nintendo console name in the California raision infested universe. I thought they would of got more creative this time around, but clearly they went in the other direction. But hey, at least it's not as boring, predictable and brain caving uncreative as the playstation brand.....The name Playstation was pretty cool and unique when the console hit the scene in all of it's awesomeness....But PS2 and now PS3, and the invetible PS4...No, i've had enough....Get creative Sony....

Anyways, I keep hearing Reggie saying,"Now the Wii U is tailored to 'you'" in my mind from e3....It comes off like some boring scummy car salesmen jibberish.lol
Personally, i would of loved to see it be called Wii Dream hehe.

Really them just calling it "Wii You" instead of "Wii U" would have been much better.

i don't care about the name of the console, it's the games that i am more interested. the more quality 3rd party, as well as first party titles from nintendo for the wii U, the better.

I am still not a fan of the name but over time I have got used to it. It is to bad they could not come up with something a lil' more exciting then adding a single letter. If they were going to add a letter then they most definitely shouldv'e chose "R" for Ryan or Rad. Heck, they should just call it the Nintendo "RAD," that would be similair to the short and sweet sound title "NES" and then make the RAD stand for something like Reality Agumented Device. Alright, so I just came up with that on the top of my head so its not the greatest I know. Oh well, I understand why they are keeping the "Wii" name at least for this round of consoles and I am glad that my current Wii accessories will work with it.

Okay, it's a bold choice for a name but Nintendo did it for many reasons (brand supremacy, etc.) and I won't be quit to judge them on it (even though I was banking on the name "Stream").

They should have just called it the Wii HD.

I don't really mind what it's called, I just want the games.

It's still a very very bad name. I'll be hoping they decide to change the name all the way up until it's sitting in my living room. Super Wii would have been cool for nostalgia reasons, Wii/Nintendo HD would have been pretty sleek, and even Wii 2 would have sounded just fine in terms of not being just ridiculous.

IMHO the "7" in the name has more to do with the new "7" item than because it's the seventh Mario Kart... like Mario Kart: Double Dash to give an example.

I don't like it too, but it could be worse...
