Topic: Guacamelee, Teslagrad or Shovel Knight?

Which would people recommend? I'll probs end up getting them all one day but which I should I download first?

If it helps, my favorite "Metroidvania" to date is Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

Probably Shovel Knight, Guacamelee than Teslagrad.

That's the order I'm pretty much going(Have SK, gonna grab Guacamelee soon and then Tes. sometime later)

They're all VERY good. Oh geez, this is tough!

My only experience is with Shovel Knight and I can't say it would be a loss buying it. As a matter of fact, it would be a great purchase.

I would go like this :

1 - Shovel Knight
2 - Guacamelee
3 - Teslagrad

But according to your preference maybe you should go more like :

1 - Teslagrad
2 - Shovel Knight
3 - Guacamelee

Why not both?

Oh damn that's a hard decision three great games,but you can only choose one.I would go with Guacamelee,but shovel knight and teslgrad is great too. Ahh i can't choose!

I'd say Shovel Knight then Teslagrad, so sad SK isn't out in Europe yet

I have only played Teslagrad and Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition. I have not yet played Shovel Knight (since it's not on the European eShop yet) but I have seen some videos of it.

I think all 3 of these are must-have indies.

Between Teslagrad and Guacamelee!, I'd would personally rank Teslagrad higher than Guacamelee!, mainly because of the art approach and the way the story is unfold and with its 2 different endings. But here's a rough comparison (I assume you know the different artstyles in these 2 games):

• There's no text at all in Teslagrad, so the story is told by paintings, graffiti on the walls and puppet plays.
• Guacamelee! is told mainly by text or by talking to people.
• Teslagrad is more of a puzzle platformer with great bosses, Guacamelee! has more smashing enemies.
• Guacamelee! has tighter controls.
• There's are some frame drops in Teslagrad when switching scenes around the "lift" (although it doesn't affect gameplay). I have not noticed any frame drops in Guacamelee!
• Teslagrad has a rather dark story, Guacamelee! is more humourous.
• Guacamelee! can be 2-player, Teslagrad is single player.
• Both games have tributes to various Nintendo franchises hidden in the game.
• Both are really great games.

Also seconding, having recently obtained all 3 games. I will mention that it's kinda easy to get lost in Teslagrad.

I got Guacamelee in the end yesterday and been having fun with it. Might end up getting Shovel Knight this week too then. How do people rank Child of Light as well? I do like RPGs.

Child of Light is solid and a desperately needed break from the "MAKE EVERYTHING A NEEDLESSLY LONG EPIC" cycle RPGs sometimes fall into. I'd recommend it.
