Topic: great sales for the wii u this week!

Vgchartz says for the week of the 23rd Wii U sold 111,046 world wide wich is amazing ! Its the biggest numbers ive seen for a long time.

And I'm guessing most of those didn't happen until the 22nd and 23rd after 3D World was released. I'm interested to see how it will do in its first full week along with being Black Friday week. Things are starting to move up just like a lot of people have predicted for awhile.

Thought I was going to find good deals for the Wii U.

Yeah it is nice to see a boost. I know the numbers aren't staggering, but it's against two new console releases and I think it has done well to keep up. Once the PS4 and Xbox 1 start going out of stock, the Wii U will keep on selling.

I bet we will get a similar boost next year when MK8 comes out. We just need another key release to come out now in Q1 to really keep the momentum going. I'm not sure Donkey Kong will be able to do that.

They should release AAA games monthcafter month to make a huge hype

Donkey kong followed by Mario kart followed by Super Smash that would be crazy

Also interesting to note that the PS4 apparently sold a million consoles on the first day of release, yet it's already down to just 90,000 for a week...(though I guess they are all out of stock)

If 100K sold worldwide in a week is "amazing", then the Wii U truly is a flop.

Honestly, I'm not expecting much until MK8 and SSB4 come out. That's when most people I know intend to buy one, anyways.

111 000 is good numbers if they can keep it up that way you think all consoles will sell 500k a week ??

No, I don't expect a console to sell half a million units in one week consistently. My point was that 100K in a week is not "amazing".

Yep it is amazing for a console that was selling 60k a week world wide

100K is great, a good boost to the numbers. I love how everyone expects 400,000+ units per week else its a flop or needs to shift 10 million in a year. No, that's NOT needed for a console to be successful. The Wii U has a good install base thats growing slowly... maybe third party support might make it's way back as things improve.

In the UK alot of retailers have been doing deals on the Wii U - £199.99 for Wii U Delux and Super mario bros + Luigi bundle. Me and my brother got one.

I witnessed over 300 2Ds systems sold for $99 run out of stock in first 15 minutes at one walmart

It's called being a realist. My point is that if this is "positive" and "amazing" then the Wii U is going to wind up somewhere around the Gamecube's numbers. Ouch.
