I used to really suck at Pokemon. I guess I got better at it as years went on, but I will never play against another person.... I know I'd get my rear end handed to me.
I was also no good at Batman on NES. I still suck at it now. I've never made it to level 3, even once.
Bart vs. the Space Mutants.. I played this game a LOT as I loved the Simpsons but man that game was tough. Don't think I ever made it past level 3 and rarely made it past level 2.
There are a few titles that I play (Eg. War of the Roses) where I'm terrible at first but get much better with time. I suppose the biggest examples would come from childhood; I played Dragon Warrior 3 (GBC) when I first got into gaming and could never get past the first continent, but loved every minute of it. The insane challenge meant that getting somewhere new was a real accomplishment to me. Good times.
Don't Starve, Spelunky for the first couple of months I played it (nowadays I'm actually pretty darn good at it), Little King's Story, Ranger X, Castlevania 1, strategy/tactics games in general
Just about every strategy game. I have no idea why I'm so bad, but I never can do well in them. Also Chrono Trigger. I never got past that giant metal boss thing in the space ship.
I suck at Advance Wars, but it's so much fun to play.

Oh yeah. I used to be awesome at strategy games. I don't know what happened, but now I can't even handle the first map in Famicom Wars.
Advance wars Days of Ruin. Can't even beat the part with the savage guy trying to raid the city.
Was that an early mission? I remember a mission like that that took me forever even when I was decent at strategy games. I got past it eventually, though.
The original Donkey Kong Country games. I played through them with my brother, and he ended up doing most of the actual playing, but I still loved them nonetheless!
Any Mario sports game will drag me through the mud, as sports games usually outside my comfort zone. Mario golf and tennis are games that I just can't get behind, while I can play Super Sluggers and Hoops pretty well against the CPU on higher difficulties, if that means anything.
.
They're still great though, because of how polished they are. It nevee feels like they're unfair. (Except for Strikers. There's a point where you just can't compete with someone that good at blocking mega strikes.)
I am the forever lurker.
