Hello,

Do you need the gamepad with the 6 in LCD or can you use the wireless bluetooth gamepad pro?
Just need to know what else I need to buy to go with the console.

Thanks, Tom

@slammin6 yes you do need the gamepad. Although many games work with the pro controller, the gamepad is necessary for some games, as well as the system settings.

At least 2'8".

@slammin6 Well, that depends on the game you want to play. Obviously, since the GamePad comes with the console, you can play most if not all games with that, but if you rather prefer to play with the Pro Controller (which is actually what it's called), then there's plenty of games that also support that.

Here's a handy list of all games that support the Wii U Pro Controller:

And of course, once you have one or more Pro controllers, you can use the Wii U GamePad as a second screen in multiplayer, letting one or more players use the TV, and one player the GamePad with the screen. The game Nintendo Land has several mini games that support this mode.

You might also want to look for/invest in a pair of Wii remotes and nunchucks compatible with the Wii U, so they should be "Motion Plus" Wii remotes. Unless of course, you've already got one or more of these lying around...
