Wondering if anyone has any fixes for this problem...

After having worked perfectly for months, all of a sudden my "accelerometer" or "gyro" or something on the Gamepad has gone haywire... when trying to take a picture in Pikmin, scanning in Lego City, or looking around in Google Streetview, everything always shows up as upside down and angled.

I know that if you hold down "X" and "B" while on the Home Menu you can access calibration settings, but every attempt comes up as "Calibration failed." You can also restore default settings in that menu, but that does not solve the problem either.

I've looked and haven't seen any solutions, or even anyone else with the problem, so I know it's a long shot. I had to send in my 3DS for repairs and the people on the phone were super awesome and it came back really fast, so I'm not too worried about sending it in... especially as it's under warranty. Just curious if anyone knows about any more super mystical calibration menus or has some mega arcane solution.

Thanks.

Just an update if anyone else has this problem and finds this...

I asked this same question on the Nintendo Tech Support Forums, and got a response suggesting to tap lightly on the Gamepad front and back (but not the screen) to maybe knock the gyro thing back into place, but it did not work for me.

Just got off the phone with Reggie and he's fixing it for free... warranty style. So that's that.

Good for you. Hope they fix it.

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.
