Apparently the Adapter is in very short supply, so just about everyone has it on backorder or are selling it for about double or more on ebay.
What sucks is my order was canceled due to a declined card, so figured I'd just pop into my local Game since I was up 8am anyway. Not so much luck, they already had no GC adapter so after a track round the high street, just gave up and settled for the game, hoping there'd be some adapters online but alas, nothing but resellers. ><
Hoping it does come back in stock for the UK, was looking forward to it. Maybe set up an alerts topic here for whenever a retailer has it back in stock?
Nintendo UK online store also has it out of stock, Amazon shows it at £34.95 and still out of stock!
I've seen Pro Controllers being sold for funny money on Amazon as well like 5-10 quid higher than the Nintendo online store - whats going on? Are people speculating on Wii U kit for the holidays?
I am not sure someone will likely correct me if I am wrong but I think the official Nintendo Gamecube adapter and Gamecube controllers when used with the Wii U only work (at this moment) with SSB U.
I read elsewhere on the forum that thrid party adapters I think there is one by Myflash will make the Gamecube controllers work with all games that support the Wii U Pro Controller. It's also cheaper can be had on eBay for roughly £10. I think it's worth double checking the facts on both before you purchase either one.
Play Asia looks like the only place that isn't charging funny money right now, but you've got p+p charges to contend with. I'm going to wait and see what happens as I can always get the Mayflash adapter if worse comes to worst. I really have to wonder how many of these things Nintendo made that they could sell out this quickly!
Nintendo fan.
Owned: NES, Megadrive, SNES, PS1, Dreamcast, PS2, DS, 3DS, and PC. Planned to buy: redesigned Wii U, New 3DS and maybe redesigned XBONE/PS4
