Topic: Game Idea: Super Smash Kart

With Mario Kart 8 having DLC that includes crossover content, Nintendo should definitely make a Super Smash Bros. version of Mario Kart. Imagine the amount of money Nintendo could make, very likely more so than Mario Kart and Smash Bros did separately.

I think they should stick with the "Mario Kart" brand, but be a little more open-minded in allowing more non-Mario characters and locations (and they have already done that with Mario Kart 8 by incorporating various non-Mario IP). "Super Smash Kart" as a title doesn't quite have the same ring to it (IMO) and I think that it may dilute the "Super Smash Bros." name considering that they're so similar.

Mario characters can continue to have priority, but it would be nice if say, 20-33% of the game's characters and tracks were devoted to non-Mario IP.

I've heard of this concept. It could be interesting if done correctly, if only because I want Mario Kart itself to focus solely on Mario characters.

LOL, the name Super Smash Kart made me think of Road Rash. I had images of Mario stealing the Smash bros base ball bat from Link and beating him up with it. And Peach punching Yoshi off a bike , while trying to avoid the Lakitu police.

Seriously though I agree with the idea of keeping the name Mario Kart and having DLC characters from other series. Or Characters from other series could be included to begin with . Perhaps the game could be called Mario: All star racing transformed, or Mario & Sonic at the Racing Games .

But they decided against it, so I wouldn't expect a Mario and Sonic racing game crossover.

by a "smash bros version of mario kart" do you mean mario kart but with a lot more characters? this isn't very imaginative and just a blatant cash cow, which, contrary to what people might jump to saying, nintendo don't really do. mario kart doesn't exactly need a whole bunch of random characters, i mean i'm sure they'll add another DLC pack or two which will be fleshed out and full of content, i hope we get a couple more at least.

I'd honestly rather it just be Super Mario characters with some others from other games as DLC like they're doing now. Kirby and Sonic would be good additions.

I made a Mario Kart 8 themed tournament in Smash Bros (with only Mario Kart stages appearing and all the items being from the Mario Kart series and only like six or seven people joined.. it was a total fail. I thought it was a cool idea....

I don't really think Mario Kart needs more crossover characters. The Zelda and AC ones are fine, but, they don't really fit in that well with the other characters. Smash Bros. can get away with it because that insane crossover factor is the basis of the series, but Mario Kart has always been about Mario characters racing, not Nintendo characters racing.
