This just in! I can access the Friends List on 3DS again... I haven't tested any apps or games yet, though... but I know the Internet Browser is also working because I just posted this from it... can we say false alarm? D:

Yes, they're back up again. What ever Nintendo were doing, it didn't take long to do.
Seems a bit odd though that it coincided with the eshop maintenance. Hope it's something good though.

I say for now, expect it to not come, and be surprised if it does. That's what I did for Sonic in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & Nintendo 3DS.

It's confusing because you wont be able to know if it's coming or its not. I hope it comes out sometime tonight or tomorrow!

Have we ever had maintenance for this long before? If not, it could come out tonight or tomorrow...

I'm not sure, I never pay attention to maintenance for the 3DS since its usually not that long, but since they said the Miiverse update along with the NNID support for the 3DS is coming out in December 2013, I'm thinking this is connected to it.
