Topic: First Gamecube game you'd get?

I think you're missing the point, I can also play Game Cube Games on my Wii but I dont because I dont like any of the Game Cube games. Playing them on a Wii U isnt suddenly going to make me think they are great games

None. I think I'm keeping my Wii when the Wii U comes out. I won't need the GCN VC games when I can buy the actual discs and put them in my Wii.

I'm not playing any Gamecube games on Wii U unless I can use the original Gamecube controller. And I'd buy Super Smash Bros. Melee. It's the best game on Gamecube in my opinion.

Oh, and by the way, when I said I'm keeping my Wii, I will buy the Wii U, too.

you know what? have you thought of getting the actual Nintendo GameCube console itself?

I mean if getting discs is cool, it'd be even more of a fuller experiencing being able to shout commands in Odama, get help from Tingle (a friend or just you) via the Tingle Tuner, swipe cards for use in your town as simulated in medium experienced known as Animal Crossing, raise your Chao with Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and Sonic Advance games (1, 2, 3), playing bongos? Or unlocking the original Metroid to play using the GameCube controller?

You could say it's like a reoccurring nostalgic trip being able to use the GameCube peripherals, like playing with the actual original NES...

That is why I guess the Wii U is so appealing [to me], imagine the Wii U "controller" (notice the quotation marks) being a Tingle Tuner 2.0! XD

Won't be playing or "getting" any GameCube games for 2 reasons: 1 - Already confirmed WiiU isn't gonna be GameCube backwards compatible. 2 - Why would I wanna replay games I've already beaten that might have been a big deal for that generation when there's gonna be plenty better brand new games for WiiU?

I'd get the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, unless Sonic Adventure 2: Battle were available, and there were no added problems to it.

I'd probably get either Super Smash Bros Melee, Luigi's Mansion, LOZ The Wind Waker or Super Mario Sunshine, because I never had a Gamecube.

This thread was motivated by the announcement that GameCube games will be available to download for Wii U.

And where exactly did you read an announcement about downloadable GameCube games? Url? I've mainly read that it won't be backwards compatible with any of its peripherals (accessories) or media.

Apparently it was not a confirmation, I only clicked the first link thinking they were identical. Just an optimistic discussion, for now!

Don't plan on getting rid of my Wii, not backwards compatible and I'm not really wanting to spend more money on downloading a game I already have. >.>

Agreed. I still have my copy, but unfortunately it's broken and causes any memory card it's used with to be corrupted.
