Topic: February NPD (Good News! Sort of)

Okay, so PS4 and Xbone are still vastly outselling the Wii U, but Bravely Default did fantastic and Donkey Kong did pretty well too. Small rise in Wii U numbers from February last year.

That's an amazing showing by Bravely Default. Only 2 single format titles in the top 10. Donkey Kong figures are good too (although it didn't crack the top 10 like it did in the UK, but still we get the 'UK hates Nintendo' comments)

Hurray for Bravely Default! Especially considering it wasn't in huge supply...

Good to see Bravery Default do so well.

Bravely Default's figures are 10% higher than what Fire Emblem achieved when it launched last February. Hopefully that shows SE that the West is hungry for their RPGs and they'll get Dragon Quest VII localised this year.

Great for Bravely Default! Especially considering that a second one is already in development. I am currently playing the demo, and I like it a lot. I hope it turns into a great series. I am also happy about DKCTF.

Are these totals world wide or just north America?

Just North America. Japanese fugures come out every Wednesday, and North America once a month. European charts come out every Monday but don't have any figures on.

Well all consoles would do about the 200k range. Would be a great competitive environment for us consumers but hey a bump in sales is positive. Trending upwards is always good.

Nice, in a side note, i find it funny how most people bash nintendo for releasing "sequels" everytime, but if you look at this charts, they are full of sequels.

Braverly Default Sold more than Lightning Returns. Hopefully this and FFX doing well shows SE people want a return to from for the series and to localize braverly second as soon as possible.

Also make more new IPs and quite living odd of Final Fantasy and Edios reboots.

Yeah, but in fairness Nintendo fans bash other companies for releasing sequels all the time as well. It's a pretty irrelevant, nonsensical and hypocritical accusation from both sides.

We get the venom on both sides. I think the usual crux of the argument is that Nintendo doesn't take enough chances with new IP as Sony/Microsoft due. But who can blame them when you look at the above, everything up their is a sequel with the expection of two games, and even Braverly Default started as a Final Fantasy game.

Daaaaaaang, go Bravely Default! Those are great numbers for such a niche game (and only in NA, no less)! Especially considering it's a new IP with a very hard-to-market name.

I'm guessing Square Enix is wishing they published Bravely Default now.

Such poor news when your underpowered console gets outpaced 3:1 by the powerful, more expensive systems

Well the PS4 outsold the Wii U last year, and I would hope a console that's been on the market more than a year more would out pace a console that launched a month the ago.

Though in the qwst which by far are much important markets for the console space its the other way around.

Just wait for MGS:GZ to be released next week you may just be surprised how quickly that will change.
