Topic: Fatal Frame announced for Wii U

Tecmo Koei and Nintendo are working together on the next entry in the horror adventure series Fatal Frame for Wii U, the duo announced.

A title and release date for the project have not been announced.

It's like a dream come true.

Never played a Fatal Frame game, but it's the one with the camera and the ghosts, right?

If the GamePad is properly utilized, this could be a right brilliant scare.

Shame NoA never felt motivated to release the Fatal Frame 2 remake. I imported, but would've jumped at the chance to own a local copy.

Makes me skeptical that we'll get this game released in North America either.

This, hopefully they have the brains to realize that they do not have enough games.

Ninth doesn't have a choice since the Wii U doesn't have much going for it when it comes to retail support.

and yeah I can't imagine them not releasing this here, they don't have much of a choice at this point.

If this doesn't come state side I'm going to be really upset, it makes TOO much sense on the Gamepad. I loved the first two games, never played the other ones.

Please use the gamepad well. The game is practically begging for it.

I hope they localize since the Wii U is region locked. I wonder if we could see an annouvment of this at E3.

If I'm not mistaken, Nintendo bought part of the IP a few years ago, which is why all recent entries have been exclusive.

I could be wrong about that, but I swore I heard it somewhere (if true, it probably increases chances of localization, I'd imagine).

It'll get localized. They have so little coming to the system that absolutely anything would be helpful.

If they're willing to localize stuff like Tomodachi Life on the booming 3DS, then they'll put out Fatal Frame on the Wii U.

I bet this game will be localized BUT why didn't Yakuza HD get localized for Wii U? Its exclusive in Japan and I woulda bought that game on day one if it was available in NA.

I'm not very familiar with the series of fatal frame, but the Gamepad as wigi board could be very scary.

I stand corrected. Apparently Nintendo doesn't own part of the IP, rather, they only own "certain elements" of Fatal Frame IV (Wii) & Fatal Frame II: Wii Edition, whatever that means.

Mhmmm!! And imagine your Mii's scared and terrified face in like the bottom left screen as the Wigi board starts....

I wonder if some deal was striked between Nintendo and Tecmo Koei, given this and Hyrule Warriors. As for Yakuza, it's a SEGA developed and published IP, and they always took there sweet time to localize it for the Playstation,.....so given the Wii U's small market, it's not surprising they declined to port it over to NA. The last Fatal Frame on the Wii and the 3DS spin off have been published by Nintendo, so we have some hope here in that regard.

Now we just need Peach and Rosalina in the next Dead or Alive!
