Hi my son has the 8GB Wii U and has run out of memory because the storeage is full. We have deleted data and even restored to factory settings. There's still data I can not find that the Wii U says is in use. Lego dimensions will not down load. I bought a SeaGate expansion portable hard drive for this Wii U and it will not read it. I ordered some other cable USB 3.0 hoping that would work. Any help I would greatly appreciate. It's been so fustrating.
Thank you for any help

Are the hard drives you have tried getting their power via their own power supply or are they relying on the Wii U for their power? If so, you might have to try them with a Y cable, which is a cable with one USB port on one end for the hard drive and two ports on the other end to plug into both USB ports on the rear of the system. Hope this helps.

lol I wanted Xenoblade and deleted pretty much everything on my Wii U to make room for it and there still isn't enough room. I guess that's a game that's only worth getting if you get the physical copy.

Sucks though because now I have to re download all my stuff (even though all I play is Splatoon, Mario Kart, and sometimes Smash Bros).
