Wonder what the eShop launch titles will be. WayForward is trying to get MSF HD out at launch but that's all we know in regards of eShop launch titles.

Unless of course they launch with the Wii's VC/WiiWare list. That would be perfect.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
Technically speaking, I'm pretty sure that third party ps1 games COULD be put on the Wii U, unless sony has exclusive rights to that series. Same is true for xbox or even pc games. The ps1 version of RE2 and RE3 got ported onto the gamecube. I don't really see any difference.

I'm fairly certain that the legal fees from emulating rival architecture without permission would bankrupt Nintendo.
They should totally still do it. I've got a bag of popcorn put aside already.
Well, they would have to be ports. They would be more like "eshop" or "wiiware" titles rather than "virtual console." But essentially that's what it would be, just like a port is. It's the same game made to run on a different system.
And as I already stated, it's already been done before. I don't see the difference between them putting ps1 games on the Wii U and putting ps1 games on the gamecube.

You do realise that a port entails significant development work, while emulation doesn't?
No one would waste the resources to port a PSOne game to the Wii U.
Playing VC games with a good controller on console on the tv is so much better than a clumsy pc desktop setup. Me and my brother have been good VC customers having spent about 300$ on virtual console while the wii shop was going strong. We waited in vain for Sega's gems (outrun/ab2/galaxy force) but got our hopes up with the recent Super Hang On on Virtual Arcade.
High hopes for an improved virtual console shop on wii u!
Also hope wii shop purchases can be transfered to wii u!
I really hope Gamecube games get added to the service and that I can play all of my VC games on the gamepad itself. It would be awesome to be able to lie in bed and Super Mario World, 64, LoZ Wind Waker, etc while my roommates are hogging the TV. That alone would get me much more interested in VC than I ever was on Wii.
Trine 2 looks amazing and I'll be keeping an eye on Chasing Aurora. And Yet it Moves was a lot of fun but Chasing Aurora hasn't sold me quite yet, looks interesting though.

Same man, minus the brother and I prolly spent a lot more then 300. I wouldn't care if I never buy any actual Wii U games. I will be happy just buying VC.
With the removal of game size restrictions, the possibilities of the new e-shop do excite me. It'll be like a proper service now. Dont want another SMBgate
As well as new retro systems for the VC, I would love too see a heap load of 90's and 00's arcade games make an appearance on Arcade. So Sega's support of the Wii VC, and recent statements from them about a digital focus, gets me a little giddy at the possibilities, to be honest. As much as that might piss Jeff Minter off.
WiiWare looks like it can compete with the likes of PSN and XBLA now, so I am interested to see how the service plays out. But I cant say I'm excited by the possibilities. I'm unsure on my feelings towards digital-only indie-style releases. It's all a bit 'throw-away' to me. Real videogame art, either technically or visually, seems to be rare.
Really hope they update the VC so it runs in multitasking mode and can be seen by friends and have miiverse features like 3ds vc. Would be a shame if they run in emulation mode like dsiware does on 3ds.
