I do when there's a Wii gem I missed out on. I still have my Wii (because of GCN ports/backwards compatibility) and I buy GameCube games every now and then. Heck, I bought a load of GBA games a couple months ago.

Just because a new console is out doesn't mean the older games aren't still good.

This is one reason why I am in favor of backwards compatibility.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

I'm on YouTube.

I promise to not derail threads. Request from theblackdragon

Yeah I hear ya. Nintendo is great about backwards compatibility.

I have never used Wii mode on mine yet.

(I have 2 Wii's with loads of VC Split between NTSCU / PAL)

I don't intend to either. (I would play something I had missed on a Wii).

Still play Wii games on my Wii U, yes. There are tons of awesome Wii games worth playing.

Still buy additional Wii games, not so much... but that's because I have (basically) all the Wii games I'm interested in, including dozens of "yet to be played" games.

yeah but mostly jpn games at this point. I've bought most of the American wii games I want to play. Only like five or so left. But there are a few more jpn games I need to finish buying.

So you've played all Wii U games?

Yes, occasionally. I still have a huge catalogue of Wii games that I'm yet to finish (start playing for that matter =P), and I still want to get my hands on Kirby's Adventure Wii and a few other titles from overseas before they're completely gone.

From time to time yes. I bought and played Xenoblade, Punch Out, Resident Evil Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles and Super Mario Galaxy 2 (believe it or not I didn't play this game until 2013) for the system. I'm contemplating buying Sonic Colors, Okami, and a couple of other games for the system that escaped my attention the first time around.

Oh that game is hard to find. In my country, I think not so many excisted and it is still keeping it's price quite well. I don't know did it have smaller amout of copies or why it is so hard to find?
Now that Hyrule Warriors has been taking so much time (still, 80h played ) I yet have to starf with both Bayonettas and then to play Smash.

I love Kirby's Epic Yarn. It's quite fast to play and easy but damn it's so good. And the music.

I bought Super Mario Galaxy 2 earlier this year. There is still a few Wii titles I'd like to have.

More GC titles I'd like to have since I never really had money to buy stuff for it (and I got it pretty late, I think Wii was already out). And I just bought F-Zero X for my N64

I just bought a Wii U as an early christmas present. I'll most certainly be using it to play Wii games. I won't able to afford anything more than 3D world and mario kart 8 for quite a while so I'll be finally getting round to playing skyward sword!

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

I've still got a Wii, the last game I bought was Link's Crossbow Training. I think there's about 2 or 3 games left for the Wii that I might get, otherwise I think I've got pretty much every Wii game I wanted.

I'd probably play a lot more if I could use the controls on the GamePad as a Classic Controller but I get why you can't. I'm not particularly keen on blowing up Wii games to my HDTV given that I have plenty of Wii U games which run at a much higher resolution. On the GamePad? It's less of an issue and the games actually look pretty damn good. But using the Wii pointer on such a tiny screen? eh...

I have Metroid: Other M and Okami that I never finished and that's about the extend of my Wii backlog I would even bother getting through. But I have other stuff that I'd rather get through first. I have Bioshock Infinite and Deus Ex: HR on PC to play through for a start and firing up the Wii U ATM I'd rather play Smash. So I don't really feel any need to play any Wii games. That said I did finally beat DKCR before Tropical Freeze launched and did play through a fair chunk of Twilight Princess again, so I have used it.

I agree with skywake here. On HDTV it's just not worth it IMO. In the Wii days I used the backwards compatibility quite often, I even putted in the gamecube discs of OT and MM. But recently I tried firing up Xenoblade on my HDTV... after 20 seconds stairing at my TV I decided not to waiste the good memories I had with the game.

I bought Pikmin 1 after I bought a Wii U, but it's the only Wii game I've bought in years, pretty much stopped using my Wii in 2010, but still need to get around to playing Pikmin 1 and SMG1 on my Wii U.

Wii games look good on my HDTV, and I didn't own a Wii myself, so there are plenty of games to catch up upon.

Getting to use the Gamepad as a classic controller is the feature I want most of any possible future firmware updates feature.

I played Skyward Sword during the lean Summer period. I had it sitting in my cupboard and it was far more fun to play than continuing with AC4. Personally I thought the graphics looked almost comparable to the Wii U games. If there's a gap this year I may play Twilight Princess.

Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

Yep I sure do! My girlfriend and I have recently been playing Kirby's Epic Yarn and Mario Galaxy. But right now I'm playing through Metroid Prime 2 on the Trilogy disc. I just beat Prime 1 last winter.

Check out my YouTube channel if you love gaming, and Nintendo (especially Metroid) I think you'll enjoy my videos. :)

I don't, because I hate wiimotes.

I never owned a Wii for that exact reason, and when I got my Wii U I bought Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess to get a start on my Wii backlog. Great, great games, but the motion controls - just ugh.

Even worse, I really can't justify spending money on batteries. I got custom rechargeable batteries that in theory would allow me to just plug the Wiimotes in whenever they were running out and keep playing, but they didn't really work.

So yeah, I'm one of those guys who are really hoping for a Mario Galaxy 1+2 HD remake.
