I haven't heard a lot of talk about the Wii U eShop and it's launch here in PAL regions, so I thought I'd create one specifically for us PAL gamers. As you know, at launch, all or most of the announced retail titles are going to be available to digitally downloadble, but I'm more interested in the download-only offerings and I'd like to talk about those because I'm quite amazed of the quality of these compared to the retail games.
At present we know of several launch/launch window games: Trine 2, Toki Tori 2, Nano Assault Neo, Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Edition, Chasing Aurora and Little Inferno. According to Wikipedia, we only appear to be getting three out of the five available in America at the moment, those are Nano Assault Neo, Trine 2 and Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Edition. I think these are still a must-buy for those launch buyers or those who get in before Xmas, like myself, though we miss out on the other two, at least for the time being.
Personally I'm hyped for Trine 2 and Nano Assault Neo. Both look visually stunning in my opinion, both in HD and both seem to be pushing the hardware, though i'm worried about the Gamepad implementation. I've not heard too much on that aspect of these download games, but hey what do you expect for launch period games? undoubtedly there's gonna be a lot of experimentation, and that too happened with the Wii, but I'm sure it'll get better, so for now,Trine 2 and Nano Assault Neo are worth picking up. Mighty Switch Force is there who want an an enhanced and more difficult version of the 3DS eshop title, though I haven't played the 3DS version, so i'm unable to comment on it, but I know you guys out there that do, so If you love the mighty series, then it's worth buying if you think it's worth it to buy the game twice.

We don't know too much about the future of the Wii U eShop, but there's two games that I'm looking forward to that I think you should be excited for.
Renegade Kid is bringing over Mutant Mudds Deluxe, a Wii U version of the awesome 2D stereoscopic 3D platformer. Most of you know that the 3DS version recently got DLC, so hopefully we should expect this version to have those DLC levels included. The 3DS version is one of the best games on the 3DS eShop so far, it blends retro "12-bit" audio and visual with steroscopic 3D and the neat foreground and background platforming found in similar games such as last years Donkey Kong Country Returns, so if you like all of those neat features, it would be perfect to pick up when that gets released. However this version, for obvious reasons, is NOT in stereoscopic 3D, but this game has since been ported to the PC and soon, iOS.
The second game I'm looking forward to is Two Brothers, so far we know it to be a retro-inspired 2D top down perspective action-adventure/RPG similar to Zelda. It features gameboy style visuals and it looks pretty awesome, I think if you're looking for a downloadable game that is similar in scope to Links Awakening, then this might be one to look out for.

Anyway, feel free to comment and talk about the new eShop, tell us what you're excited for and bring on November 30th people!

Well I would like a 3D Mine Craft game for the 3DS e-shop. That would be very popular
Wii U e-shop looks amazing, and hope they make it like that on the 3DS in the near future.

@RetroGBHippie92

Excited about getting the Wii U, should be awesome! What games do you plan to get retail and from the e-shop?
Also make sure to fill me with Miiverse screen shots and Information on Swap note

Are you buying a Wii U @CosmicMii? Maybe making a Wii U version of Minecraft would work, though personally I don't really care either way whether it's made or not.
Come on people, feel free to comment. i'll update this thread when we receive Nintendo eShop updates so we know what we've got for the week, just like on the 3DS eshop thread.

I live in Melbourne, Australia and I'll be picking up my Wii U on Friday. Can't wait:) Personally I'll be downloading Trine 2 & Little Inferno. I'm also interested in Two Brothers and Toki Tori 2 when they are eventually released. I hope that Nintendo have the Wii U VC up and running sooner rather than later as I really want to download a few GCN games too. Even though I have quite an extensive VC collection on my Wii I would also consider downloading a few titles again for the convenience of being able to play them on the Gamepad.

I've got my pre-order in and given the first class posting option was only a couple of quid I expect to have my Wii U Friday.

I'm intending to go all download - including retail - so I'm pleased to see that it looks like pretty much everything of significance should be available for download.

Of the games you've mentioned Nano Assault and Trine 2 are pretty well guaranteed for me. I'm definitely curious about the others, so I'm not ruling anything out. My daughter is quite keen on the Wii U as well and has an eShop card from her birthday six months ago she's not used yet, so I expect that will be used towards a Wii U purchase rather than DSiWare as originally intended - whether or not that ends up being a download-only title like Toki Tori 2 or Chasing Aurora or put towards a full retail release I'll be interested to see.

I'll be getting my Wii U at midnight on Thursday night/Friday morning.

All the eShop games look great and I'll definitely be getting Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition (have to buy that again, too awesome not to), Little Inferno, Trine 2, Nano Assault Neo and Toki Tori 2.

Two Brothers has my interest but still need more info and everything on it before committing to it.

Chasing Aurora looks pretty fun and interesting to me, but unfortunately I'm probably not going to download it due to its focus on local multiplayer.

Mutant Mudds Deluxe is the only title that I'm not going to consider buying.
I've still gotta play through most of the 3DS game, but I'm not in any hurry to because when I initially tried I really struggled to get into it.
I'll get around to it someday, but I'm not going to be double dipping in that one.

All in all, the eShop is looking great so far.
Can't wait to see what's to come.

Will be getting the Wii U at launch. Probably going to download Nano Assault Neo if i have the money. Might download Trine 2 too, altough i'm not sure. Might try the Trine 2 demo on the PS3 first (unles there is a demo on the Wii U).

Really? I love Mutant Mudds. I know it's pretty tough, I have rage-quitted quite a few times from that game, but it's like an old school challenging game. Besides Pushmo/Fallblox it's my favourite eshop title. I won't be buying it again though because once was enough, I still haven't beaten the Granny levels.

It's not that it was too hard.
Just never really captured my interest I guess.
It didn't seem bad or anything, I just didn't love it like a lot of other people seem to.

Ok fair enough. I love the old school music and graphics and I did find the game challenging. Oh yeah I forgot you have beaten all the Chapters in KI: U on 9.0 intensity. I'm sure Mutant Mudds wouldn't be hard for you.

Trine 2 looks pretty awesome. I've never played it our the first. Is it essentially a pretty platformer? I'm looking forward to it

You guys know that Trine 2 has Online Multiplayer? Makes me even more tempted to buy it . Also Mutant Mudds only gets really difficult towards to end of the game when you're doing the CGA levels, the last one is a real pain, I nearly rage quitted that stage because it was excrutiatingly difficult, but I managed to beat it after like 50 tries.

My main concern for the digital versions of retail games is going to be the price. When I look at the cost of 3DS retail games on the e-shop they are all $10-$20 more on the e-shop so I have no reason to buy them that way. Obviously games like Trine2 you dont have any option but retail games have to be cheaper IMHO on the e-shop before they would become popular.

Ditto that, Raz.
No box, no physical media, then add to that the ridiculous cost of Aussie internet (expensively underwhelming unless you live in the richer 'burbs of a capital city or regional centre).
All for the privilege of not having to get off your arse to change disks (I refer only to those games available from retail outlet).

The current full RRP of downloadable retail 3DS games in Oz is not attractive to me for the above reasons, bar the internet bandwidth, so unless I see at least 20% off for downloadables on new release, I'm not likely to be downloading anything other than the indies - pretty much as I did with the PS3.

This affects the decision to buy an external drive - do I really need anything more than a 500Gb hdd when I'm only likely to be storing games saves, indies games, and the odd games which requires to be run in conjunction with a HDD?

Well I am still going to get a 2TB hard drive mainly because there is not much of a price difference between them and a 500gb-1tb version (if any in some cases!). Will it be used though? At this stage apart from the odd e-shop only available game unlikely.
