Honestly don't really care either way about EA. Enjoyed Mass Effect 3 and Need for Speed most wanted U, but I'm feeling cold here so just wanted to get the flames going

I'm not sure why anyone would be offended by this. Can WiiU owners not take a joke?
This sort of thing gives Nintendo fans a bad name, not EA.

He's not apologizing necessarily for hurt feelings of Nintendo fans, but he is apologizing likely "for the ill-advised, unauthorized post of an underling"
The quoted phrase from another forum sums up what I believe.

In other words Moore is a lot more concerned in keeping a public cool face. You don't want to antagonize openly and directly a big publisher. It's just bad etiquette.

Also, its entirely possible Moore is overreacting or not. We will never know how serious the jokes are.

I suppose the "partners" part of Moore's apology was the April Fools in hindsight.

What is funny about the whole situation is people saying EA went too far.

Reading comments in NintendoLife's article on April Fools jokes is proof enough that some people take all this way too seriously.

It isn't insulting (to me at least) it just isn't funny. Maybe I just don't get it

I thought they had a funny tweet, can't remember which one. But I can understand why people would be mad, the way they wrote it kind of seemed like they were trying to poke the bear. I don't think it was too bad either, I still thought Google Maps and Mighty No 9 jokes were much better.
