I'm curious, what rpg's that Bioware did before Dragon age and Mass effect would you recomend? I actually like old school rpgs... would definitely pick them up for the pc if the price is reasonable...

You mistook my for someone who plays Bioware games. Pro-hint; I don't.

Ah yes, Dragon Age.

...I literally have no comment. However, I am interested to see how DA3 will end up as the original founders of Bioware have left the company and the Mass Effect 3 debacle has most likely made EA distrust every decision that Bioware makes, forcing some executive to watch over the shoulders of every employee.

All at once. Using psychic powers.

oh and to your comment.. you are asuming it was Bioware and not executives of EA themselves who were responsible for the debacle you are referring to.. remember suits are usually the ones with the "great" ideas not the creative teams... which is probably the reason te original members left in the first place...they got tired of the coporate sterile enviroment and missed what they had before EA came along...

I doubt anything different will come from the new installment....

Ok this thread now has me not-so-quietly banging my head against a wall.

'Suits' don't ruin games. They make games sell the maximum number of copies possible. If that ruins the experience for the 'fans' then meh, whatever. Fans aren't really fans because they would rather a company bankrupt itself than make a game that doesn't appeal to them personally.

Mass Effect 3's ending was only a 'debacle' to that entitled kind of gamer that seems to think his/ her idea on how a game should finish is more important than the actual artist that made the game. Needless to say these people don't have legitimate opinions.

Mass Effect 3's original ending was a brilliant way to tie off the trilogy while keeping the doors open for further adventures down the track.

And finally, Bioware is a massive company with massive resources available to it. It lost a few people, not everyone important to the company and is in a perfectly fine position to replace those that left with equal, if not better, visionaries.

I'm sure Bioware will poach someone from Bethesda or From Software of CD Projekt or something. It'll be fine.

I'll take your point. And let me write that honestly I really don't care too much about the ending of mass effect 3 but a good majority of fans actually did... I just bought the game today and started playing it just recently...

Yes it is understood that executives do influence in the creative process and yes they're job is to maximize profits to keep the company in business...etc...etc...

BUT that doesn't mean the artist is going to be happy with that..... and yes you write that Bio ware will find new talent to fill the shoes of those that left but it will never be the same...

either way that is just the reality of things.. all good things must come to an end.. just like the NY Giants season

This fear that gamers have that different will mean bad is a real cancer that prevents risk taking by the AAA-game developers. If 'fans' were more open-minded the suits would be able to let the creative teams try new things. Bioware won't be the same as it was before, but why the assumption that that is a bad thing?

But no, fans would rather throw tantrums over game endings, character redesign (DMC) and anything else creative that the fans don't happen to like.

'We want innovation, but only when it suits us' - an attitude from a massive number of people who haven't got a clue about game design. There's the real problem. The suits just want to sell lots of games.
