If I had the choice, sure I would pick the option that lets you play as the other characters, why would you not? I'm not torn up over the fact that we can't.

Thank you. And that's is exactly my point. Why would you not? And yet Retro Studios chose not to. That's what I'm getting at. Why would they choose not to?

Hopefully they got it right with the extra time they got from the delay. I'm like you though, it really doesn't make any sense for the player not to be able to pick the character of their choosing. We shall see in a couple months!

On a side note, it definitely isn't a deal breaker for me. I'm completely pumped for this game 100%!

That was a hypothetical question you asked. Anytime someone asks if you would want extra content in a game you would probably say yes. Retro knows what they want to do with the series and I'll be darned if they haven't done a fine job with it this far.

Will buy this game if it goes cheap or there is a game drought. Still need to finish the Wii one

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

This looks like a good fun game for me and the girlfriend to play, so I think I will get this at some point.

So now Cranky Kong is officially confirmed and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is coming on February 21. Cranky can use his cane to bounce across spikes just like Scrooge McDuck. He can also throw his teeth out. The game also supports the Classic Controller Pro.

I think someone called the Scrooge McDuck pogo gameplay. Good guess to whoever that was.

It genuinely looks like Retro put in a ton of effort to make this game great, and I think people are going to enjoy it big time. I'm happy to hear the Pro Controller is an option because that will be my method of play along with the Gamepad. February can't come soon enough.

Haters of the recent news can all go to bed because "they be Cranky".

Good to hear that it's not Wiimote mandatory, cause the Wiimote controls in Returns were a little bit clunky.

Although the annoucement yesterday was disappointing.

Still a day 1 buy game for me.

Oh yeah I agree, I can't wait to play the game, even though I do think that level shown looked straight out the Wii version. I'm hoping in the final version we'll have really impressive graphics going on and maybe a few new game play ideas. Bouncing around on the stick does look a lot of fun.

I have to admit when I first heard about Cranky being playable the first thing that popped into my mind was using his cane like a pogo stick a la DuckTales.
