Good to hear that David Wise is composing the music.

To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
I miss Japanese games, the good stuff... Games that are imaginative, have good and unique gameplay, a great soundtrack, and replay value.

Putting aside the fact that I was hoping for something different from Retro, I'm actually pretty excited for this.
Donkey Kong Country Returns was the best 2D Platformer on the Wii by a mile and a half, and this looks sure to be excellent also.

At least Nintendo of America anyway. I know NOJ at least sells some.

I would have quite liked to have seen them maybe have a crack at a 3D Donkey Kong as it's been so long since DK64, but I suppose 2D is the safer bet.

Though to be honest, I would have preferred something completely new from them even more. I only recently played DKCR, so I don't have much of a hunger for this at the mo. Looks excellent though.

Concidering that Retro Studios has lost quite a few of the essential talents behind Metroid and DKCR, I feel Retro has lost it's megatonic value.
That said, I'm sure this will be a great game and I'll be buying it! I'm just not expecting anything groundbreaking from Retro anymore, until they prove me wrong.

I want to see a source, but that would be awesome! He's one of my favorite game composers.

From the Developer Direct:
1. There will be five islands Donkey Kong will explore on his way back to Donkey Kong Island in order to fight off the Vikings and their mysterious leader and win back the island.
2. Playable characters will include Diddy and Dixie, but there is a third character being kept secret for now.
3. Donkey Kong can throw some enemies and pull up things like Mario in Super Mario Bros. 2.

While I hate Funky Kong for what he did to Mario Kart Wii; it'd be nice if he or Tiny Kong was the third character. It might be Kiddy from DKC3 though; either way, I can't complain (though others will...).

Considering how often Emily Rogers has been wrong and stupid before, the fact that even she has to point out this is a rumor makes me extremely doubt some of this.

I actually read this recently from elsewhere but just now read the comments and even then she says this isn't huge trouble. Relax.

Nah, I wish, but I've tried that before toward the end of DKCR and it didn't work out. It's probably going to be a big, intimidating polar bear or some other Arctic animal.

Tensuke didn't mention a "mysterious leader," but everyone knows those Vikings have some kind of higher-up.

This game is gonna be awesome. And I don't think this is the only Wii U game Retro Studios is working on. Apparently, Retro was choosing between Donkey Kong and Metroid for their FIRST Wii U game. They could be making a 2nd title as we speak.

And Retro going with DK instead of Metroid makes commercial sense. I'm no developer, but Donkey Kong Cuuntry is probably faster and easier to make than Metroid Prime. Plus, I believe DKCR on Wii sold almost 5 million copies in its first 4 months.
