Also your other examples don't apply when all the games you just said are made by mutiple team studios and we know that despite hiring Retro is still a single team place.

I don't see how the number of teams working on a game makes a difference. You're saying that because they're smaller they will create less games and therefore it's a missed opportunity? Maybe the criticism is indeed more about Retro than the DK. People want Retro to make new magic, and sequels to be made by another developer.

Retro is the savior of dead Nintendo franchises. People want to see Retro bring something old back to life, so seeing a sequel to DKCR is probably disappointing people for that reason. But, considering Retro made three Metroid Prime games before moving on to something else, it shouldn't be all that surprising. And another disappointing fact is how long it takes for Retro to make games. The Wii got MP3 towards the [beginning] of the Wii's life and DKCR towards the end. This implies that we likely won't get another Retro title until towards the end of the Wii U's life.

This pretty much sums it up. It isn't the fact of a DKC sequel that's got everyone in a fuss, it's who is making it. But as mentioned Retro did do three Metroids in a row, so it still surprises me a little as to why it's this particular sequel that people rip on.

Avian fact of the week: The Moa, an extinct relative of ostrichs and emus that inhabited New Zealand, was the tallest bird that ever lived at 12 ft tall (3.6 m). It was also the only known bird to have no wing structure.

The game looks great in person, and plays well. It get's my stamp of approval.

I'll play it for what it is. If it delivers on content and fun factor? Then honestly? Does it matter if they did another Donkey Kong game? /shrug

It all depends on whether it's the difficulty the first was, imo.

I hope Tropical Freeze has its share of epic moments. Returns had moments when you had to dodge incoming waves, get chased by a giant bat, get chased by a million spiders, and ride through over-the-top mine cart levels. I also look forward to seeing more rocket barrel levels.

Happy 35th anniversary, Donkey Kong!

I think the timing has more of why people are so frustrated. After all those rumors about what Retro was doing, everyone was all hyped up. The Wii U kinda needs to get a killer app if it wants to sell better. Everyone knows Retro Studios is more than capable of delivering. Not to mention all those Star Fox and Metriod cross over non sense. This game seems really interesting but the timing to annouce this game could not have come at a worser time.

Forget the Nintendo seal of approval
I only see GC 4.0 happening if I become a English major. Yeah, it is happening now. GC 4.0 will be released in 2020.

Although I'm sure this will be a great game, I'm still salty about the fact that Retro Studios even went with the decision to make this game instead of giving us Metroid, F-Zero, or Starfox.

Because as we all know, Metroid needs a fourth game by Retro whereas Donkey Kong can't have a second?

Besides, if Retro are basically the new Rare, then giving us a new trilogy of Donkey Kong Country titles is the least we can hope for.
