Just wondering because it happened to me a few times. Nintendo Land froze up on me twice, and Black Ops II froze up on me once, then I brought my Wii U to my friends and he accidentally unplugged it twice because the outlet is touchy. Worried about it, already feel like I'm damaging my Wii U more than I did my Wii in the little bit of time I owned it.
Proud black Wii U owner. :)

It shouldn't. It's not reccomended, but I don't think it should be that much of an issue. If it is, than everyone with a Wii U needs theirs to be repaired, because mines frozen constantly for no apparent reason, and all you can do at that IS unplug it. It's happened alot, so don't worry. Plus your Wii U has a year warranty(90 extra with registration), which is more than enough time for your Wii U to be working with no prblems.

Thanks for the reinsurance man. I hope it doesn't cause any sort of fault in the hardware. I just want to kick myself over my friend unplugging it though, since I knew it could of been prevented, oh well... haha. An accident is an accident. Just makes me cringe every time I have to do it because I paid so much for it and I won't be getting another console for awhile, lol.

Yikes. Well, unplugging it from the wall while it's still on isn't good for it, but two times shouldn't do much. Unless, of course, data is loading or saving, that can result in data corruption (and worse problems if it's during an update). Just don't let it be a habit. As for the spill you mentioned earlier... well, try gently cleaning the power brick with a damp cloth, just make sure it's not plugged in and let it dry before using it. Hopefully it should be fine. If it starts having problems, consider replacing the power cable.

If you did any serious damage with the unplugging though, you'd probably know by now. The freezing is hopefully unrelated, but if you keep having problems with that after the upcoming update, I'd contact Nintendo.

I checked with another guy on the forums and he said his power brick makes the same creaky/sticky sound so I'm not too worried now. And hopefully you're right. I know AC3 saves a lot, sometimes at random times, so I hope it wasn't while it was saving or loading.. so far haven't noticed problems though. Played the game a good 3 hours, noticed some glitches though, like in one bar I could walk threw a table and I saw 2 horses standing ontop a trailer of hay, lol I think that's the game though and not my console.

Well it's a port, people don't seem to realize this but porting a game is not a very simple process, which is why so many of the Wii U ports are glitchy. So yes, that is the game, in fact I do not think damage to a console could cause glitching. It definitely wasn't when the game was saving or loading, else the data would've been corrupted and you wouldn't be able to still play (the save file would have to be deleted). Also, I would wipe down the power brick where the spill was just to be safe. Still, I'm glad your console is still in good shape, take care of it, Nintendo hardware is notoriously durable but it's better to be safe than sorry!
