Does Satoru Iwata need to resign from Nintendo, I admire him because he the face of Nintendo and I'm already use to him but enough with that I can go on for hours on why he is the best CEO and President out there. But lets be real for a sec? Should he or should he not? He has made some success over the years. For Example the 3DS is the best selling console ever (Handheld), he made some wonderful games like my Favorite The Legend Of Zelda:Twilight Princess.
In my opinion he shouldn't, he should fix Nintendo and the Nintendo name. He shouldn't put Mario in mobile devices. JUST FIX NINTENDO, End of story!!! Now I would like to hear from you guys. What do you guys think? Yes Or No?
I think he should resign because after directing Nintendo through a decade of success, which includes are the wii, nds, and 3ds, his failure with marketing the wii u is unacceptable. UNACCEPTABEELLLL
No, all he needs is a change of pace and a change of plan. I would say VC will probably be fleshed out more, more remakes are probably coming, more open online services, possibly an optional subscription fees (that I won't buy, of course), and some more partnerships with the better half of third party games. He also.needs to open up to the western audience to expand the user base. Conduit sequel, No More Heroes sequel, The Last Story sequel, etc. should be commissioned and marketed by Nintendo to pull away from the bogus "kiddies" label that the biased gaming media and dudebro gamers like to cite. If done right, the Wii U can be turned into a hot commodity. All Nintendo needs to do is put out the games and all we Nintendo fans need to do is support the Wii U with the exceptional first party offerings and third party exclusives, as well as the non-gimped third party games. I love how the 3DS is doing very well, and since the "casuals" are gone now they are still trying to call it "kiddie", because we all know they, "hardcore gamers", wanted to gloat about their precious Vita with its Uncharted and Call of Duty spinn-offs.
I know Iwata can do it, he just needs an American right hand man and a European right hand man to help with that market reading. Even if Wii U doesn't even pass up GC or N64 numbers we all know that they will have, by far, the best first party titles this generation, as they've had for the last 30 years. Microsoft and Sony are focusing too much on graphics to give me anything fun, and third parties are determined to not support the only console with out their over saturated genre of games. Who, in their right mind, would want Titanfall, Destiny, or even Battlefield, when they can get Halo, Killzone, or Call of Duty? Some of the games may have slight variations in mechanics, but they're all basically the same uninspired FPS that I am sick of.
Like a lot of people I find Iwata charming because of the Nintendo direct videos that make him a likeable person. Unlike most people though I don't get blinded by his charm. I like him in a personal way but if I think about him in a professional way the guy has made so many mistakes I would say fire him. But then again I'm not in charge and who knows why he hasn't been fired maybe they believe he can fix things so we'll have to wait and see.

Just asking, I mean what country do you live in? Although he is the president he put other people in charge of big mistakes such as the marketing in North America. He's Japanese, why would he market to a culture that he doesn't understand? I mean the guy took a huge paycheck cut to keep people hired on in the company. I know you shouldn't judge someone sorely on their presence within a Nintendo Direct, but give the guy a break. What mistakes has he made personally? Do you work at Nintendo and see what he does on a daily basis? Just because he okays ideas doesn't mean they were his, wether or not he deserves the axe because he okayed decisions that put the Wii U in a less than ideal financial situation really depends on things we couldn't possibly understand.

Just cause most replacements would be too cheap & greedy to have reasonable wages, Iwata's nice. He screwed up, but so does everybody. How many people would take responsibility in his position?

My argument is that we couldn't possibly know how much he has screwed up because there are other departments and branches responsible for the Wii U's current financial predicament. Even idiots like Mike Jefferies, who's own comments insult a huge majority of possible customers of Abercrombie & Fitch, which causes a huge social backlash and a loss in sales still has his job. Mr. Iwata didn't cause the Wii U's horrendous first year sales. Many things have caused this, Nintendo's image, consumer confusion due to a lack of a strong marketing campaign from Nintendo of America, and the lack of the large casual gamers due to mobile games and tablets. The only other casual gamer are the 12-16 year old who basically buy Call of Duty boxes. Iwata's choices as president also has to appease a board of directors and investors, who only see the dollar value of a console, not the quality of the games.
