Hi guys,

I've recently noticed (since the last update) That if your saving and running from an external drive you can get a lot of drive errors while playing games (seems to happen while it is saving). I First thought i brought a Dud Wii U but noticed it only happened while using my ext HDD. Are not all HDD compatible? its using a Sea gate case but its a 1 TB Western digital drive.

Any thoughts on this would be great

No clue. I haven't had any problems with my Toshiba 2TB.

AC or USB powered? USB powered could be your problem ;) my system hasn't even crashed/frozen or horn of doomed and I have been constantly playin' it since launch... 2 TB Seagate USB 2.0/3.0 AC powered.

You should try returning your HDD first. You're gonna be pissed if you ship in your Wii U and the HDD still doesn't work like it's supposed to. If the new HDD still doesn't work, then send in the Wii U.

I've had this HDD for a while now, and has worked fine on a PC. like I said, the HDD inside it isn't the original (Sea gate case with a western digital HDD inside)

I don't think Its the HDD, I've moved mountains of data over on this drive with no issues. Maybe its because the drive can go into a "sleep mode" and if the Wii u cant read it quick enough it craps itself
