I do. It would be cool if they did a Splatoon tournament or something like that. I know the game will be coming out before E3, but still. What do you think they will do, or do you think there will even be an event this year?
I don't think they have an unreleased title to do that with, so what would be the point? Splatoon will be at best buy, it might be on the on the demo Wii U, but there's no reason to have a big event if the game is already out. Retailers won't be up for promoting that.
Maybe, and I mean big maybe here, Star Fox will have a demo event. Presumably that could have multiplayer of some sort, but I don't know if even that has enough star power to warrant retailer's attention.
I think it'd be cool if during the entirety of E3, Nintendo allowed you to download select demos directly to the Wii U, which would effectively bring E3 to the players!

Well, there's actually a possibility of Star Fox, XCX, or perhaps something Nintendo hasn't announced, yet. I find it disappointing how many people forget that Nintendo hinted at unannounced games after the last presentation. Keep in mind that DKCTF was at the one two years ago. It doesn't even have to be multiplayer, as WWHD showed. And there's a chance Star Fox U may have co-op, which was also clearly viable. There's no telling what Nintendo has in store for us. If they don't have much to show, I can see them skipping the E3 Best Buy stuff, this year, but I think it'd be a missed opportunity, in some cases.
The real question is how many Best Buys are they bringing it to, this year? I couldn't go last year because there wasn't even a Best Buy in Arkansas, but you'd better believe I'll be trying to make the trek, if it's anything like 2013's set up.
Also @enderboy221 I think the biggest problem with that idea is how much work putting all those demos on the eShop, even for a limited time, would be. Actually, especially for a limited time, since they'd then also have to take them down. As long as it's a physical set up, they can have special discs, flash drives, external hard drives, or whatever fits their fancy, but when you bring the eShop into consideration, that's a lot of uploading and ties up Nintendo's operations like you wouldn't believe. Might be nice, though, to see a little effort into advertising SFU. They really need more IPs to stand tall after their Mario-Mania console launch (and by "launch" I mean "first two years.")
I think this year will be more like 2013 so yes a Best Buy setup but mostly co-op and single player games rather than something huge like last year's Smash setup. Xenoblade X, Yoshi's Woolly World, Mario Maker and [insert unannounced game] will probably be available.

Well...it could be serious advertisement for Splatoon. But I'm not holding my breath, though.
God first.

Agreed. I wish they would do this at a gamestop as well. I'm usually near a NC best buy that they pick but I'd imagine they'd have more traction if they did this in a game store. Gamestop would welcome the foot traffic for potential credit card and reserves anyway.
