I'd prefer them to do another handheld title, a Star Fox game along the line of adventures. We all know they're stuck doing the next Mario Strikers game though.
I'd rather a Super Mario USA 2 if any Mario game was to get a sequel.

I owned it for a few days when it first came out but didn't really dig it. I remember it having some 'disc error' message that kept freezing my GameCube or something so I took it back to the store where a friend worked and she improperly gave me a cash refund rather than a replacement. Never played it since then, but I wonder if I should have took a replacement copy as many people seem to think this game was fairly good.

If we're basing a Sunshine 2 off of Next Level Game's success with Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, then I would want Sunshine 2 to be on the 3DS. Just as they did going from Luigi's Mansion to Dark Moon, a similar direction can be done with Sunshine and its sequel by using the neighboring islands of Isle Delfino shown in the game's opening or a new setting with an archipelago design. Il Piantissimo kidnaps Peach in retaliation for Mario making him an embarrassment on Isle Delfino, and with the magic paintbrush, now commands an army of muddy minions. To me, the Super Mario series needs a title like this to bring creativity back into focus rather than barely managing to impress by playing it safe. That said, a Wii U 3D Super Mario game should be more on the safe side just due to the situation the Wii U is in and its need for a big hitter.

I'd prefer there not be a direct sequel to Sunshine personally. Not that I didn't like the game, but I'd rather they introduce something new and exciting, like the first Galaxy game was in 2007.
...but if it were going to be made anyway, I guess these guys would do a good job. D:
I agree. Sunshine was fine, but it's time for some fresh ideas again....not retreads.

see im glad im not the only one who sees that maybe a sequel could still explore more on the ideas/settings in the game
i dont know why everyone bashes the game or hates it i mean it was different idea and take on the mario games its not like it was perfect either but would they rather hate that or for nintendo to just bring out the same old mario game we been getting recently? another thing galaxy got a sequel too and ppl thought it was alright same with luigis mansion so why not let them give this a try theres so many things they can do now with the controls and stuff they could fix what they did wrong with the other game
it can be about luigi this time and not mario and come on dont tell me the visuals for the game werent good for that gen of console D=
