So I picked up Disney Infinity 2.0 last night but haven't played it. Probably won't get a chance to play it until the weekend or something. Has anyone else gotten it?

I also got the Guardians of the Galaxt playset and then through a deal with GameStop, I got Groot free.

So I'm curious for those who have played 2.0 how many save spots do the Avengers/Guardians/Spiderman missions have. Infinity 1 only had 1 for each game and it sucked since you had to beat it and let the next person save over your game for everyone to enjoy it all the way through. Has that improved?

So I am debating picking up the toy boy 2.0 thing this week as a Christmas present for my daughter (7) and was wondering: PS4 or Wii U?

My concern isn't as much graphics textures and the like (tho important to a degree) but how much different input and creation is between the two. Is the gamepad at all utilized to build things to make things easier, or is that side of the experience pretty much identical between all platforms?

In an ideal world I'd like to think that the gamepad would be used to make building a lot easier on the kids whose generation is more adept at touchscreens. However, I also know that devs have been lazy with regards to gamepad adaptations, so I'm looking for most bang for my buck.

Also my understanding is there are lower limits on... construction for lack of a better word, on Wii U (which is understandable). Does the game let me import other people's games and whatnot, and if so, is that system dependent?

thanks in advance for the help

I have only played 2.0 on Wii U and only for a short amount of time, but I recommend the Wii U version. It looks great and you can download Disney Infinity 1 for free so you can still play Disney Infinity 1 playsets (you cannot play Disney Infinity 1 playsets in Disney Infinity 2)

Sorry to bump this, but I have to ask.
I'm tempted to get this because I'm a a bit of a Disney freak and I'm impressed by the detail in the figures. I'm going to be 20 soon, so would this be something I could enjoy, or is it more for young kids? I babysit my cousin's little girl every now and then so it'd be nice to have something other than Mario Kart to play together nonetheless.
I might just buy some of the figures just to display them along with the few amiibos I have.

So, thoughts?

I am pass 20 and I enjoyed it. As long as you approach it knowing it was meant for a younger audience I think you will still enjoy it.

Too bad this thread died last fall - only to be reawoken now - I could have really used all your help when I was considering getting this for Christmas, which I did, on the PS3 though, so I can't really answer any Wii U specific questions, but I've learned a lot about DI in general as there was a lot to learn.

I enjoy messing around in the toy box, and building my mansion is my favorite part so far, but the Avengers main storyline in 2.0 starts out really boring, and its ugly gray compared to Skylanders, so I haven't been playing that.

The website lets you play the game for free on PC, they rotate characters for you to try out. You can also play 1.0 but the link is well hidden somewhere you need to search google to find it. They let me play The Incredibles adventure for free but not sure how much that was based on buying the game and registering a code. I'd recommend starting here:

Thanks for the responses guys, I appreciate it.
I'm either going to get it for Wii U or PS3, and I'm leaning towards getting the Toy Box bundle instead of the Avengers one. I saw some of the 1.0 figures for like $5 a piece at a liquidation store a few days ago (I think they had Woody, Mike, Vanellope and Captain Barbossa). Might go back and pick those up some time next week.

You can use 1.0 figures in 2.0, right?

If you aren't that into the Avengers then Toy Box pack is probably the way to go. I bought Capt Jack and Barborsa for $5 used at Gamestop (in the US) planning on using them in my free Wii U download of Disney Infinity 1.0 but didn't realize I still needed the "set piece" which goes for about $10 used on eBay, so I've been considering just picking up the entire 1.0 set for $25 used on Amazon. I got 2.0 Marvel in a bundle w/ a PS3 b/c I wanted the PS3.

All the figures work in the 2.0 toy Box, none of the 1.0 "set pieces" work. And of course figures only work in their own adventure worlds anyway, so it's still a bit confusing if you ask me.

If I have an Elsa figure from 1.0 and I play her in 2.0, can I still play the adventures tied to that character or can I only use her in toy box mode?
This is confusing.

This is confusing.

Some characters have "Play-sets" which 1.0 "Play-sets" can only be played in DI 1.0 (BTW DI 1.0 is free to download on Wii U) but all characters in 1.0, even the ones with "Play-sets," can be used in 2.0's Toy Box mode. Elsa does not have a "Play-set" and can only be used in the Toy Box.

Did that help?

Amazon.ca is having a sale on the Avengers set. It's actually cheaper than the Toy Box bundle. So I've taken the plunge. Just ordered it for Wii U (was going to get it for PS3, but I think the gamepad would be better for something like this).
So, I ordered the Avengers starter pack with Buzz, Jessie, Anna, Elsa, Spiderman and Nova. Then I'll go back to the liquidation store next week and pick up the cheap figures I saw there. I'll probably get Aladdin, Jasmine and Donald Duck later on.

Going to download 1.0 off the eshop when the stuff arrives. Pretty excited. Thanks for all your help guys.

It arrived today. I've put about three hours into it. I played a few missions from the Avengers set (found it a little boring), and then I spent the rest of my time messing around in the Toy Box.
I haven't laughed like this while playing a game by myself in a very long time. The moment that I realized that I could hit hosts, I was laughing so hard for some reason. Really fun. I like the RPG elements in it with the skill tree and whatnot. I'm amazed by how well made the figures are. Up close and actually holding them in my hands, I was blown away by the quality. They don't feel cheap and they look fantastic.

It seems like a really good game to play on a rainy day or when I'm sick. Just mindless fun. I wish I had something like this when I was younger. I can't see myself collecting all the power discs and stuff. I'll probably just get the figures that I want.

It'd be neat to see Nintendo try to make a deal with Disney and somehow find a way to incorporate the the amiibos into the Wii U version of the next Infinity game.
