Topic: Disney Infinity 2.0

We have had E3 but I'm still seem to be struggling to find out more info on the above title. As a owner of the first game I'm trying to find if the original portal base will work or am I gonna have to fork for a new starter pack?

They have confirmed that the portal base will be forwards compatible with the new game. So you don't need to buy another!

I believe they also confirmed all toys will be forward compatible as well. To bad I have nothing to do with my Captain America toy until this comes out

Is this game going to have Gravity Falls figures? I liked the first Infinity, but I never played it that much, at least not enough to get my money's worth. Gravity Falls figures would be the only thing to push me enough into to buying this.

Nothing officially confirmed yet on playable characters. But there are pieces from the show that have been spotted in the game!

New information, it is getting me more excited than I probably should be lol

I'm totally gonna pick this one up. I sorta missed out on the first one. But 2.0 has Stitch, Donald Duck, Aladdin, and Guardians of the Galaxy! I can't resist it any longer.

Plus all the 1.0 stuff works on 2.0 so you can get the toys you missed

Yeah! But I still need to pick up the first game because as far it seems it's still the only way to get Sulley, Jack Sparrow & Mr. Incredible. And I really need Sulley, Monsters Inc is one of my most favorite movies, and I've already got the Mike figure, so I just gotta have them both!

Some bonus info I found

• There will be no Gravity Falls characters to play as in 2.0, just parts from the show can be used. (that's a bummer, hopefully 3.0?)
• 2.0 will not have any 4-legged characters (Ex: Simba) because the developers are working on it but still aren't happy with how they play yet.
• No Crystal Variants will be in 2.0 or any future Disney Infinity games because the dev team decided it's better to put more time into making new characters rather than reskinned characters.
• Figures will no longer be sold in triple packs. Only single packs, story packs, or theme packs.

I bet you will be able to get 1.0 pretty cheap during black friday

@DefHalan Actually I just found out that starting this Sunday Target will be selling the first game for only $30!

That is awesome, do you know if any figures will go on sale too or is it just the game?

Glad you made this post OP. My wife is very interested in Disney Infinity now (thanks to amiibo)...now she wants to buy the original Disney Infinity. My question is, is it worth it now? Or should we wait for the 2.0?

Hi @technotaylor98, could you please elaborate what are the difference between the pieces? I know the figure unlocks stuff in the game, but apparently there are more than just the figures? there's pwoer disc and playsets? What are they? And what is the Toy box you're talking about? Since the PS4/Xbone is bigger means it's better than the Wii U? Sorry for my badly worded questions.

@technotaylor98 You have my thanks! I'll look around to see if I can find the starter pack for less than 50 bucks! As for the playbox, is there any mentioning how much bigger will the PS4/Xbone version be? If I get a PS4 later down the road, will the portal and power disc/playsets be compatible between Wii U and PS4? I would presume so since the figures is not locked to a specific console.

SO did anyone watch the Live Broadcast they had this morning on Infinity 2, I missed it so wanted to see if there was anything interesting reported.

I didn't see the whole thing. But from what I saw not much seemed to have happened. They mostly spoke with the lead developers on what it's like working on the game. They showed how they listen very closely to the fans when it comes to deciding characters and making the game more enjoyable. And they showed some new footage. And for a quick second you can see Hiro & Baymax from the upcoming film, Big Hero 6 are playable.
