Well, some people aren't too pleased that you can't play the game on the GamePad or not even a Wii remote and nunchuck in single-player. I would agree that this Wii U version was rushed, but I'm still getting it.

I found a short video of gameplay footage. Anyone who can recognize what are the fairies and the general area is from, please let me know.

So me and my wife have been wanting to get this game since we are Disney fans, and I loved the original game.
I do have a few questions before we get the game though. I've been waning the Wii U version but after reading reviews, I'm not so sure.

-Are there real frame rate issues with the Wii U version?

-Does Mickey has to use the gamepad instead of a Wii remote, and if so, how are the controls (I ask this in part because I did play the original on the Wii, and I'm not sure how the paint brust would fell with a control stick instead of the Wii remote?

-Do you have a personal recommended version of this game?

I didn't play the first one but got number two last week when I got the U. Traded it in yesterday because after playing it for approx 2 hours I lost the will to live, I was that bored.

I've heard that same problem from other reviewers...I still want to chance it with us being pretty big Disney fans myself....just not sure which version to get. From the sounds of it, the Wii U version has been the worst....Wii or 360 then?

I'm stuck with getting this version, so hopefully I'll enjoy it. From reading people's comments on Miiverse, it sounds like most of them didn't mind the supposed flaws.

Just finished the Wii version and I really enjoyed it, about as much as the first. I'd say it's a bit shorter than the first game in getting to the final boss, but you can at least carry on afterward, which is a big plus in trying to complete it. It does have a few issues still - I'd hoped the camera would have been improved a bit more - but there are improvements to speak of as well, and it's just as charming as the first.

Hoping to try the Wii U version at some point - I've heard bad things, I'd just like to know for myself how much worse it is than the flagship version.

I don't know why this game is getting such hate round the web. I'm enjoying it very much on the Wii U.

It sucks you can't use the WiiMote and nunchuck when playing alone, though. The gamepad controls are fine, but not perfect. Aiming your paint or thinner stream can be difficult and the segments where you have to walk very slow are frustrating.

BUT, the rich world of the first game carries through. There's a ton to do in every scene and I find myself just slowly going through the game (I've had it since launch but only on Chapter 3) enjoying the scenery and the atmosphere.

Glad to hear it. I'm wanting to get the Wii U version honestly...the buggy issues i've heard of just scared me.
I did hear a friend that has the Wii U version say he was able to play as Mickey with the Wii remote when playing with someone else somehow actually. Don't know if it's true or not.

I just got it on Wii because.
A.There wasn't nothing new added to this version to extend length
B.The Wii version was half the price of the Wii U version.

Look forward to trying this on Christmas day, hopefully it isn't as bad what people say it is.

Also what are the musical songs like?

So I played the game today for the first time, and it doesn't seem that bad except for one thing. The cutscenes and voice-acting are fantastic, but Oswald's AI does not work well. I was at the castle in the beginning when it's being shaken by earthquakes, and Oswald didn't bother to use his remote to activate the machines at all. Even when he's standing there in front of it and says he's got it, he doesn't.

If it keeps up, I'll just have my sibling help me.

The game is way, WAY worse with the Wii U GamePad.
I'm getting this on the Wii despite the worse graphics, but at least it's fun to play.

I got it for the original Wii,and I'm pretty impressed with it.
I notice there was some frame-rate problems with the Wii version playing on the old Wii,but poping it into my Wii U,the problem went away.

After a shaky start, I'm finally getting a hold on things and I am enjoying the game now. I actually don't mind painting and thinning with the control stick. The frame rate doesn't bother me too much, and Oswald is acting better. I'm loving the many cameos and references of past Disney films and characters both familar and lesser known like Creeper from The Black Cauldron. So far, the atmosphere and presentation of Epic Mickey 2 is just as good as the original, maybe even getting better.
