So we are getting an inferior version? Well, I'm not getting it now... Random tought, if they want this to sell, they should at least give us what PS4 got. Or they could do things like this on other consoles, and if people gets angry about it, stop support those consoles. At least for me, it looks like they think we dont want their games. we do. (Or at least I do) but what we dont want, is gimped versions

It's all predictions at current. We know virtually nothing about the Wii U version so the assumptions are of course based on previous Ubisoft Wii U games. What's true though is that it won't sell whether it is a dumbed down port or a far superior to XB1/PS4 port for the simple reason of Smash Wii U (apparently) releasing in the same week.

It wouldn't sell great even if Smash was delayed to February.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

This game is going to sell less than 20k copies on the Wii U worldwide. Calling it now.

TBH, I think it will either sell VERY well, like "OMG, you have to buy this game on Wii U! The other versions can't touch this!", or "F***ing seriously, Ubisoft? There was a 5 month delay on top of an already existing 7 month delay... for this?".

There is a 0% chance of this selling decently well, let alone very well.

It will be DOA.

Well, if the Wii U version isn't a gimped piece of crap that actually shows Ubisoft cares about Wii U owners, then I think it has a chance to do well. Watch Dogs is 1 of the 10 or so major retail games coming out by the end of the year, so I think that even if everyone buys Smash Bros, if people buy 1-2 other games at the minimum(2-3 total), Watch Dogs has a pretty good chance of doing well with those odds.

We haven't even seen the Wii U version. It could end up being decent, or very bad. If it's decent, I think it still has a chance. We'll just have to see.

Maybe releasing alongside Smash is a good thing?? A lot of people will be going out to buy a WiiU for Smash and with some extra money in the pocket may go for it if it is like a directors cut. Many say the WiiU version of Deus Ex was the best version maybe we could be looking at the same thing with this.

@bluemage1989
That's what I'm saying. The other games coming out, besides Smash Bros, are:
Hyrule Warriors
Bayonetta 1 & 2
Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2
Disney Infinity 2.0
Skylanders Trap Team
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric
Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
The Voice: I Want You

So anyone who would be interested in Watch Dogs would probably only get Smash Bros, Bayonetta 1 & 2, or Hyrule Warriors. I wouldn't consider games like Lego or the toy games to be part of the same demographic, amiibo aside. There's only 3 other games on Wii U to compete with, so I think it actually has a good shot at bringing in some decent numbers. If the Wii U version of Watch Dogs is actually something worth buying in the first place, I think it will do well along with those odds. Just my 2ยข.

I honestly held off on buying the Xbox One version. It doesn't make sense to me to choose the Xbox One version, just because it came out first. That's like saying Mass Effect 1 & 2 and Bioshock coming out on PS3 basically didn't matter, because those games came out later than on the Xbox 360.

I originally had this pre-ordered last year, thinking it'd be a cool new IP. Then it got pushed from November to April. Okay, I was already a bit miffed over the whole Rayman Legends thing, but that's cool. Then it got pushed from April to May. I was leaving the city I was in, so I had to cancel my pre-order, but I figured I'd pre-order it whenever I got home... and then it got pushed back on the Wii U to TBA. With how long it's taken to get it to the Wii U, plus their comments about Nintendo fans not buying mature games, I'm just gonna go ahead and tell Ubisoft to go to Hell. They're basically EA's right-hand man when it comes to screwing customers. I just decided to boycott any game they release.

I was really looking forward to play this game with the Game Pad, and all, but if people are right and they are going to screw this "port" and then complain about sales, I honestly would prefer to buy a Watch Dogs: Rail Shooter spinoff instead with Wii Remote controls.

I'm kinda taking a break from Ubisoft at the moment. The franchises I love the most from them PoP and BG&E are MIA and the other franchise I liked AC has been (for me at least) run into the ground. Watch Dogs wasn't that entertaining for me. I'm not really a fan of how Ubi is sorta just throwing in the towel. If you tell people you aren't making mature games anymore who would buy the last one you are making? Was that supposed to inspire us to make a statement?

@SCAR392 It's still garbage to offer this game at $60 when there's no additional content or even confirmation on Online modes for Watchdogs when the game is $40 everywhere else.

I know it's dumb. I don't think they will do that, though. All I'm saying is that they can charge whatever they want, even if we don't agree with it.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but it's because it's already been out for 4 months and mostly everyone who was gonna buy it on Xbox One and PS4 already did. From what I see, it's $45 used at GameStop. People hate GameStop's trade in policy, but they keep supporting it.

Oh ok.

I'm honestly always surprised when used games for games that just came out exist. I guess I shouldn't...

I think it's a HUGE waste of money. Some people buy a game and play the campaign, then they're done and get over half back. It makes me think that people aren't as amused with these games as they claim, if they're trading the damn thing in a week later. People aren't getting their money's worth if they trade in things so quickly. If they're fine with that, then whatever. When someone trades in 3 games back at $40 a piece, that they originally paid $60 each for, they technically gave them $60 for free, because the buyer doesn't have product in their hands anymore, but a company still has the money that ultimately equals to nothing for the consumer(that keeps trading in their crap).

I don't necessarily think it's gamers (at least ones that visit sites like this) that are returning their newly bought games.

Most people have games consoles these days, even if they're not core gamers (they may have bought it for their kids, etc.), and I wouldn't be surprised if there are a large number of "average Joe" that might pick up a copy of the newest heavily advertised mainstream title on a whim, and only play it once.

I know I sure was surprised when my dad randomly came home with a copy of GTA: Vice City (PS2) shortly after it came out, and he played it a grand total of twice (he did the same thing with another PS2 game called Big Motha' Truckers as well). More recently, he showed a completely random interest in Assassin's Creed III (due to the Revolutionary War setting), though he never bought it.

PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Yes, but now imagine your dad following game media closely enough to know of every big game coming out, getting excited, preordering everything that interests him on the list, buying it, playing it a few times, trading it in, then buying the next batch of games. Some people do that. All I'm saying is that they are basically handing GameStop money, because they ultimately don't have a disc, and they got rid of the disc for 66% back, on average. Those people are pretty much paying $20 to play a game for a week, when they could be playing it for months, which includes actually completing the game and playing it until they know the game like the back of their hand.

Lots of people just don't do that anymore, even if they are excluded from the group of people that continuously hand GameStop money. People that trade in games constantly are better off finding a place that will let them rent the game on launch day. This is all off topic, so I'll just leave it at that.

I'll be seeing if the Wii U version is actually worth a look, because I don't think I'll be interested in the game enough with how it is on Xbox One. Splintercell: Blacklist benefited tremendously from the GamePad. I just hope they actually figured out how to get better graphics than Xbox 360 and PS3, because even if the GamePad features are great, I think having better graphics than Xbox 360 and PS3 will push more people to buy the game. That's why I hope Ubisoft hasn't been wasting their time with this game. With a 5 month delay on top of a 7 month delay, it better deliver, because otherwise it probably will be DOA.
