Topic: Disc Read error?

I was playing Hyrule Warriors for a while today and suddenly I get a disc read error that says the disc might be dirty and tells me to take the disc out and put it back in again, the disc worked when I put it back in again but it was weird because that's never happened before. So is this disc read error a common problem, should I be worried?

If it happens again then yes be worried. It could just be an isolated incident cause by a dirty disk which is nothing to worry about.

You can always buy one of these to be on the safe side:

If your disc is clean and you get read errors, you might want to try that if it starts to happen more often. Otherwise it might have just been a coincidence for whatever reason.

EDIT:FIXED: The first link I posted was for a Wii Lens Cleaner.

Thanks, hopefully it's just an isolated incident since I just got the Wii U last September.

I'm gonna be frank here. Since the Wii, Nintendo has made awful quality disc drives. I don't know that many gamers, yet far too many of those I do know have had Wii disc read errors. I myself had one.

Yeah unless it was a used Wii U I would just chalk it up to an isolated incident unless it happens again.

"Since the Wii"? Wii U and Wii don't use the same drives. What do you base the Wii U drive quality on?

I've had mine since launch, and it never had any disc drive problems. When I read that people were having problems with their disc drives, I just figured that people weren't taking care of it, That's always the more likely case. No offense.
