Topic: Dirt stuck between gamepad screen and frame; toothbrush method not working!!!

My Wii U gamepad touch screen has become unresponsive. From the Wii U menu I can't touch anything OR select anything with buttons; the only button inputs that work on the menu are the triggers and the x button to switch to the Mii Plaza view.

However I know that all of the buttons still work, because when I switch to the plaza I can move the camera around, zoom in and out Etc, and when I switch to the TV remote mode I can use the buttons that control the channel and volume

So after searching extensively on Google I found a couple of other people that had the exact same problem down to the very specific details; they all solve their problem saying that it was a grain of dirt stuck between the screen and the frame and that all they had to do was clean it out; however none of them say HOW they cleaned it out

Nintendo's official support says the only recommended method is using a soft bristle toothbrush, but so far that method hasn't worked for me. I have heard it suggested to use a needle for more abrasive dirt or to use an electric toothbrush instead, but customer support isn't allowed to recommend anything else so I don't know if those actually work so I'm turning to you people

The reason I'm here is to see if anyone else has had the problem and solved it, and if so what method did you use to get the dirt or debris out?

Please don't 'bump'
