I'll wait untill I get word from a source I can read. :P
And, how will you play the games you've downloaded at all if that is the case? :?

I used to travel the stars, then I discovered Earth, and these incredibly addicting things called 'Video Games.'
And they said you couldn't buy happiness!

No no, I mean, it's in Japanese, a language I sorta can't read.

If you're serious about taking advantage of digital retail on the Wii U, you're certainly going to opt for an external HDD, not a mere SD card. You can find 1TB HDDs nowadays for around £60.

As for eShop purchases alone, 32GB should keep you sustained for quite a while until you need to upgrade.

Let us not judge a man by the colour of his skin, but by the character he chooses to battle with in Brawl.

lol ok i just reread the second link and realize its a translation :P makes sense first link isnt though but im sure theres a reasonable explanation as to why we can use are SD cards hopfully thats not the case with digital only games but i just remebered we were not really playing them from the card it just simply moved them to the system

so i imagine for big games that would be problematic

The average SD Card (typicall 512MB-2GB) can't hold a full retail download on the Wii U for the most part. The largest can hold maybe 2 to 3.

So this is understandable. Just buy a hard drive.

Oh yeah, I see that now... :P
Oh well, if this does turn out to be true it won't really affect me since I don't plan on buying any retail games through the eShop.

with the options being there just proves nintendo are doing something right.
atleast one good thing, we can set our own levels of memory with the WiiU rather than having it limited kike the dying breed of current consoles.

Save files and extra content? That's my guess. DLC, user made content, etc... SD isn't the best method to play games anyways. I agree with other users, just get an external hard drive, you get more space for your money anyways. If you aren't downloading full retail titles, you shouldn't fill the internal space too quickly. If you are downloading them, an SD card is a bit unrealistic.

Anyone who will download retail games will undoubtedly be buying an external hard drive. So for everyone that isn't, the SD card slots allows them to bump their systems memory a bit for DLC, saves, VC games, etc.

So this is effectively a non-issue.

Especially when a 32GB SDHC card is fairly costly, relative to how cheap it is to get a massive external HD.

Does this refer to digital versions of wii u games? What about downloading old classics or wiiware titles?

I can't see why you'd want to use a SD-card for playing your games directly from. With maximum speeds (class 10) of around 10MB/s it is too slow compared to an external HDD. Moreover... a class 10 SDHC is not viable in terms of price/storage/speed compared to a external HDD.
