Topic: Demo download issues

Started a standby download of the Sonic & All Stars demo last night. The orange light came on but went back to red very quickly. I put the console back on and sure enough the demo was only a third of the way through.

So I switched off again and left it for another hour or so and the orange light flicked back to red. Job done I thought but checking this morning I found the demo half finished. I am using an external HDD with a y cable but I thought the download process had been streamlined since the update!

Bit of a pain but I'll get there. Just wondered what could be causing the demo to not download in one sitting.

Internet connection could be the problem. I had issues with mine early on, leaving games d'loading just to find later on that it stopped a quarter of the way through. Been fine for quite some time now though.

Is it weird that the first demo I tried to download in the same way experienced a similar problem and yet every subsequent standby download that followed went smoothly?

Have you tried downloading anything else yet? If you do, get back to us with how that went.

Super GnG downloaded and installed perfectly on Thursday but the Sonic demo is far bigger.

Hard drive might not be the issue as I unplugged it and tried the Sonic demo again and it went from orange light to red after about 10 minutes.

Tried the Monster Hunter demo with my HDD connected and it's behaved the same, orange light for 5 minutes or so then back to red. Checked DL management and it'd done 17% before somehow stopping. Weird.

Have you tried leaving the console on when you download those demos? If so, did they stop as well? Or is it just a standby problem?

Nope just standby downloading recently. I have got demos just by leaving the console on prior to the spring update.
