They fixed FF14 and made it one of the best MMOs out there. 13-2 was also miles ahead of its predecessor in terms of gameplay.

They decided that more of the XIII story was a good idea, so no. And most of the opinions I've heard about XIV is that it's just ok gameplay that you tolerate to get to the story parts honestly...which to be fair that fits a Final Fantasy game pretty well as far as I'm concerned. But my point still stands. Play better games in the same genre instead.

I liked Final Fantasy 13's story...though I'll admit they screwed up the story in the sequel really bad. It should've continued, but it needed to be in better hands storywise than what it ended up with.

And Final Fantasy 14: A realm reborn is really good. Granted, we're talking about a genre that gameplay wise you either hate or tolerate, but I've enjoyed it even more than Final Fantasy XI, which I thought was one of the best Final Fantasy games period.

I'm sorry that you're a pretentious person who can't let other people enjoy things that you didn't. The internet has placed an unwarranted amount of hate on FFXIII just because it was unexpected. It was linear, but I still enjoyed it.

No, I could be way way way way way way way worse about someone liking the game, trust me on this. It does amuse me slightly to casually bury people's opinions. But even if you like it, it does have broken storytelling. I don't hate people that like the story that is broken but it still is broken, just from any basic writing standpoint. Not bad, actually broken. I'm not interested in changing your opinion, I'm only interested in games I feel should do better to do better (the fact that changing people's opinions could get them to play those games is why I would do that) and FFXIII's success while most great JRPGs nowadays are niche legitimately annoys me. I'm sorry if wanting better from the genre OFFENDS you or whatever, but I'd greatly prefer that than to watch more awesome games like Radiant Historia almost entirely ignored.

Yes! Demand a game from Square so it sell poorly and force the company to lose a load of money for a few fans who are too stubborn to buy a different console for games they want to play.

I agree that there are better JRPGs out right now. My personal favorite of the 7th generation was The Last Story, which never got as popular as it should have, but Final Fantasy XIII was still fun to me and to a lot of other people. And the only reason I called you pretentious is because the phrase, "I'm sorry that you like objectively broken storytelling" has a hint of "I'm better than you because I don't like this story. You are all beneath me for liking Final Fantasy XIII's story."

Great idea, guys.

I just created a forum for people like me who want FFXV on the Wii U to gauge how many other people feel the way I do. If there were enough people on my side, it would not be a poor decision.

Yes, let's develop a crappy port that only five to ten people will buy because some people still believe in the horrible concept of brand loyalty! What a wonderful idea!

Can I say the same for Bayonetta 2?

Anywho, I agree with the consensus that this is a bad idea

Yeah, people are totally not just trying to save money by owning a single console that doesn't have monthly charges! It has to be brand loyalty! I totally haven't own both a PS2 and a PS3! I have to be a Nintendo cultist!

I didn't really like any of the FF games. I feel like the strategy/gameplay isn't complex enough.

If you can get around the entire install base of the Wii U to buy the next Final Fantasy, then yes, this is fantastic idea.

Of course. Same situation, different game.

Final Fantasy XV is probably the only game in the series that I would want. Action RPGs are better than turn based RPGs, IMO. Even if the story is great, a game NEEDS good gameplay, otherwise it's a story, not a game.

This just depends on the individual.

Now to be fair, I'm not gonna pretend my opinion is entirely based on first hand experience. Closest to that I got was 7 hours of an online playthrough that I couldn't watch anymore because it was a boring, confusing mess to me. But I've read a lot about it, looked quite a bit into it seen other people's in-depth opinions and double checked to see what was true or not about people's opinions. Most of this is from quite a while ago but one thing that is unquestionably true is that it has plot holes even David Cage would be embarrassed by (the main one of course being the stupid heroes who realize more and more how much that what they're doing is the worst idea possible and yet keep doing exactly what they know the villain wants for no good reason) But the main thing is confusion. Unless you Wiki this stuff, this game refuses to in any way possible, let you know where, what and why for so much of it. Even ignoring everything I know (or at least remember) about what I researched about later parts of the game (which honestly still has a lot of the same problems IIRC), the game desperately needed a Titus or Vaan as an idiot to be explained what is even going on, where these characters are, why anyone is doing anything, what anything is. Otherwise it is just a disaster of confusing characters doing illogical things in a world of terms that are literally just gibberish for the player. The closest example I can think of is those stories that start in the middle as a way to intrigue the player, but someone completely forgot to go back to earlier so that there would be context or reason or anything for the player to latch onto.

Final Fantasy these days is crap. There's no reason to have this game on Wii U.

I know what FF13's story was, but it basically made no sense, because you were fighting creatures that weren't even involved in the plot. You could say the same thing about any RPG, though, kinda.

Look at RE, for example. It's their job to terminate the T-virus. Everything that happened in FF didn't really have to happen, at least when it came to a majority of the combat. The only answer to wind animals attacking you, is that there's some sort of evil, much like Earthbound stated at the beginning of the game. No such thing was ever said in Final Fantasy.

To be fair, Xenoblade didn't explain why random stuff happened, but the gameplay justified the actions, at least more so. FF13 was literally "press X/A as many times as you can". No thought in strategy, at all. The only times you really had to strategize, was when you were a really low level(which basically never happens), or a boss battle(again, far a few between).

The strategy wasn't even fleshed out. All they basically let you do was paradigm shifts, then everything was automatic.

Yes, releasing more games does increase a console's install base.

But with Square's tradition of making money, the Wii U will be FFXV-less. Face it, developers don't want to publish its games on Nintendo's Wii U.

This is the problem I want to fix. That's why I want FFXV on the Wii U, because if some publishers start acknowledging the fact that the Wii U is capable of playing games, more will inevitably jump on, and the Wii U will have the install base it deserves.
