If that's the case, I don't want to pay $400 for half a console when I already have a Wii U with free online capabilities. Most of the games I want anyway are Nintendo First Party games, with the occasional third party series, such as Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Metal Gear, etc.

Xbox one restricts access to online and subscription stuff like Netflix when you don't have Gold, but PS4 restricts only online play. Free To Pla games' online aren't behind the paywall either on PS4.

On the PS4, it's mostly just Online gaming that requires it. You get free games and additional sales with PS Plus as well, but otherwise everything else in the console is free. Xbox One, though requires it for a bunch of their media apps. Even the browser...

EDIT: Right, cloud saves for both as well. But trust me, you'll want to back your saves up to a flash drive anyways...

After both 13 and 14 being horrible i'd rather not play 15.

To put my views simply, the Wii U is the most consumer friendly console this generation in terms of initial cost, simplicity, and cost over time (cost of games, online fees, etc.) which is why I want Final Fantasy XV to be ported to the Wii U. It should be possible, and I accept the fact that it won't be as polished as the PS4 or Xbox One versions. I am fine with that. I don't want to buy a new console just so I can play a small group of games (I made that mistake with the PSP), I want to buy a console that has games I really enjoy, and Nintendo consoles have always provided that in spades. The Wii U has already had some sleeper hits in my opinion, such as EDGE, and that's what I love about it. It has the first-party blockbusters and the indie hits. I'm sticking with the Wii U this generation, and that is why I want Final Fantasy XV on it.

You just reminded me of a point I forgot to make. The Wii U has the potential to be the most hardcore console and the most casual console at the same time. The GamePad can make very hardcore games such as ZombiU, or very casual games such as Nintendo Land. ZombiU is the most hardcore FPS I've ever played due to the sheer consequences of every decision, and Nintendo Land is the most accessible game I've played since Wii Sports (my Hockey friends hated Nintendo until they played Nintendo Land) due to the variety of the attractions (everyone is bound to like at least one).

They fixed FF14 and made it one of the best MMOs out there. 13-2 was also miles ahead of its predecessor in terms of gameplay. They've proven they've learned from their mistakes, IMO.

I agree, I hope they can continue to improve the Final Fantasy name (although I don't think that the formula established in IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, and IX needed to be improved, but to each their own.)

Why are we comparing FFXV to FFXIII and when FFXV has nothing to do with how the previous games play? It's not even the same genre.

I don't know. I know I'm just saying that I'd rather trust that they'll do a good job with whatever they try to do. Hell, even FF13 was good for what it was trying to be. It just wasn't what people wanted it to be that was the only big "problem".

They decided that more of the XIII story was a good idea, so no. And most of the opinions I've heard about XIV is that it's just ok gameplay that you tolerate to get to the story parts honestly...which to be fair that fits a Final Fantasy game pretty well as far as I'm concerned. But my point still stands. Play better games in the same genre instead.
