It's been at the top of my list of Wii U games to buy. I've been excited to play it since its release on the other consoles, but now with the added DLC and supposedly better graphics, why is this not a bigger topic?

I honestly was only mildly interested in this.

But if it's actually Zelda-like...oh god yes I need this. MORE 3RD PARTY DEVELOPERS, MAKE GAMES LIKE ZELDA. It's almost always a recipe for brilliance.

only just started the first game and can't really see what's so zelda like about it yet, other than you carry a sword, it seems very action heavy with even the puzzles if you can call them that requiring you to defeat a bunch of enemies, still nothing wrong with that really its actually a lot of fun but I just don't see it as very zelda like so far though maybe that will change later on.

It becomes much more like Zelda later on, once you get to the dungeons. That's where that game shines in my opinion. It goes from a solid action game to a nice hybrid of Zelds + Action.

But yeah, Darksiders started off pretty slow.

I wish more Wii U owners would get Darksiders 2. It really is a fantastic game. I know a lot of Nintendo fans would like a Zelda game, and it would fill the void quite nicely. Yeah, there are some problems, but they don't hinder the game too much.

I'd get it if my family didn't have a personal vendetta against me getting anything Mature rated.

...But I'll still try to get it anyway. ;)

I mean, I planned on getting a Wii U port at some point just for the sake of getting a Wii U port and it was always gonna be either Darksiders 2 or that new Aliens game unless they both ended up disappointing. This is mainly because those 2 developers really seemed like they cared about the Wii U version of the game and would put in the most effort. Darksiders 2 takes the lead just because of that.

Seriously, more people need to make Zelda-like games. Stuff like Okami, Beyond Good and Evil and Megaman Legends are pure gold and more games like them are good for everyone.

Out of interest, how old are you? It's not that violent a game.

OMG this! For years, my parents would never allow me to play M or R16/R18 games but in the last 2 years they've become more lenient and I did actually buy Resident Evil Revelations this year for my 3DS and neither of them objected in the least, I actually enjoyed that game, despite being put off several times when it actually did scare me a bit.
Back on topic, Yeah I would actually like to buy a port too, in fact guys, can't we just just call them versions instead? I hate the word 'port', it makes me cringe whenever I read or hear it (there I go again...).
Darksiders II looks interesting enough, I haven't played the first but I'm guessing that isn't exactly necessary as i've heard. To be honest, I've only just caught up with the HD gen, I've never really cared for top notch graphics, I've always wanted to play interesting and fun games and they don't need to have shiny graphics to be enjoyed.

I just ordered it from the UK (I live in Australia). Really looking forward to it too but I likely won't be getting it for a couple of weeks!

I think the trailers look fantastic! I'm interested in getting the game. The only problem is that I have two young kids that love watching me play games. Is there an option to "turn down" the blood as there is in some games? I know, I'm a lame old man, but I just don't think my little boys need to be around that for at least a couple of years.

To add to this, my kids have been pretty sensitive to that stuff in the past. I was playing Wolverine on the Wii. It's reasonably tame. But when you kill bad guys they scream or say things like, "I cant stop the bleeding!" Or "Oh God! I'm sorry!!"
I was playing along and my kid touches my arm. I look over at him and he's staring at the screen and says to me, "Dad... He said he's sorry..."
Lol. So hence my need for a little caution.

I don't think you can. There's a lot of blood in the trailers ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwLHlImvtmc ) but the gameplay itself doesn't show much. It's a gothic theme, wich is quite dark. So maybe your kids should skip this one.

I haven't played the game itself though, so I don't know for sure

I think your kids might wanna skip out on watching this then. It's not veeery violent, most enemies don't even spill blod, however there is some really violent scenes in it with lots of blod. And there is no way to turn down the blod unfortunatly.
