Topic: Counting down to the Wii U launch! How are you making it through?

So with a little over month to the North American release and slightly longer for Europe and Australia, how excited is everyone? Are you counting down the days until you get your hands on the shiny new console or are you instead counting on a price drop next year until you even consider opening up your wallet? For those who are looking forward to the Wii U, just how excited are you and how are you preparing and passing the time? Are you frantically finishing your Wii games, selling older video games and consoles for some extra cash, getting your body ready, or just reading every bit of information you can find on the Internet?

As for me, I haven't been this excited for a new system since the SNES. Since then, the earliest I have ever bought a new console is around a year after launch. Everyday I am checking the web for new information and updates. When I think about it, a 31 year old this excited for a Nintendo system just makes me laugh. But that is just part of the magic of video games I guess; the ability to make a 31 year old act and feel like a ten year old again. Anyway, how are you guys doing?

I'm excited as ever, only I wouldn't be able to get it until Christmas (hopefully anyway). Super, SUPER excited for Pikmin 3 though!

Booked the day off work for the 30th.

I put in for a paid-day-off at work the day after release so I can play more. And I will be there at midnight. And the most I've us visit this site. And join, of course.

I try to blank it out of my mind since thinking about it makes me more inpatient. I haven't felt this way since the Wii was first released. At least I have my 3ds to keep my attention and the lack of current advertising to not remind me how much I want it. Maybe they're waiting for next month to drop the advert bomb.

Excited for Wii U's games(especially Rayman Legends and Nintendo Land)and the better-than-360-and-PS3 graphics.Frankly,I'm just hoping that I get AT LEAST $175 so I can pay for half and ask my parents for some money(for Christmas,possibly),so I could get the Deluxe set.Though,I don't want to go to any Black Friday sales.I see people acting like they're protesters in the Middle East,just for presents on the videos they show of Walmart last year and I think 2010.Anyway,back to what I was saying,if I get enough Christmas money(If I already have the Wii U by then),I might get at least one launch title,maybe New Super Mario Bros. U,even if I'm more excited for other games.So basically,my body is ready and I want that Wii U.

I've been doing all of the above, I've been counting down the days and playing my old Wii games and Gamecube games to help pass time, other than that I'm extremely excited for the console, and the other great games in the wakes.

I think I might have a big SSBB tournament with my church community and some of my friends to celebrate the launch of the Wii U on 11/18/12.

Meh, too busy playing Pokemon Black 2 to care about the U right now.
And Paper Mario next month will make it even easier for me to wait. xD

I'm doing fine. I just got Pokemon White 2 to help hold me over, but until then, I'm still planning on revealing my new purchase to my parents (already preordered) and trying to decide on a Launch game (you guys are helping me with that).

Count me among the 30somethings who feel like a wee babe again, anticipating this system's release. I've a few Wii games I want to get to before the 18th, with plenty to still play after, but right now my focus is the ridiculous NSMB2 goal of 1,000,000 coins..... and I'm 90,000 away! Then: RE4 for Halloween. Then... holy cow we'll be two weeks away. Then just frantic blabbering and walking in circles, probably. Just hope my Toys R Us pre-order is ready on day one....

I didn't know they were sold out in Canada? Have you tried preordering inside the store?

Sounds like we are in a similar boat I'm hoping there is no problem with my Best Buy preorder. I'm dreading hearing something along the lines of the shipment didn't come in or your preorder got lost in the system or something like that. Haha..

...meh. I don't care. More preoccupied with Black 2.

I seriously hope Pikmin 3 will at least come out before next year, otherwise...
