Hey everyone, I was wondering if we could see a Metroid Prime 4 or a spin-off (like a side story set in between Prime games) on Wii U. I know Retro Studios is interested on working on a new Metroid Prime project. What do you guys think?

They are? I thought the whole reson they started on DKCR was because they where tired of the Metroid franshise. But who knows, maybe. I'd rather have a well made Metroid side-scrolelr though.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

Hmm... I'd like a 2D game on 3DS and a 3D game on Wii U.

Well, Prime 3 ended on a cliffhanger, so I'd say it's pretty possible we'd see a Prime 4 on the Wii U. I'd say it's the most likely Metroid project to appear on it.

To tell ya the truth, I really want a more 2D style Metroid game on the 3DS. Last time we had one of those was Metroid Zero Mission, and that was almost 10 years ago!

Well what if we got both- a 2-D style game on 3DS and a Prime game on Wii U?

It's happened before with Metroid Fusion on the GBA and Metroid Prime on the GameCube, both released in the same year.

I think i'd prefer a Fusion sequel to the prime trilogy seeings how they used kinda an odd loophole with Other M. So unless my understanding is a little mixed up, but isn't Samus Fusion suit kinda carrying the last remains of any Metroid existance? Not only that, but while not only Zebes and now SR388 (Metroid homeworld) are both blown to bits, so is the BSL (research) station.

Wasn't Prime a trilogy that ended by 3?

Considering how many times the Metroids have been "completely exterminated" and then shoehorned somehow into every game, I'm gonna have to say no.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Uhh, what do you mean ""how many times" they've been "completely exterminated""? How could we possibly have that many sequels if this were the case? Cause see this is how the story excluding Prime goes, Metroid 1 = Samus is sent to Zebes to destroy the space pirates leader MotherBrain, so basically she's attacking the pirates. (not the Metroids because this would mean the federation had too little information about them) Metroid 2 = Samus is sent to SR388, the Metroids homworld, to destroy them in order to prevent the space pirates from getting ahold of them. (Super) Metroid 3 = Since she couldn't destroy the hatchling, Samus takes it to Ceres research station to be furthered studied, and as a result the space pirates have an opportunity to try again. Thusly THEY yet again became the target to be hunted down, not the Metroids. Metroid (Fusion) 4 = Samus is sent with a team back to SR388 in order to gain information about the Metroids homeworld beause they needed the research in an attempt to breed them, and also created the SR-X environment to further study them. Samus gets infected by the X parasite, which eventually spreads through the BSL station when bits of her suit are sent to the station for examination, so obviously she's sent to investigate and clean the whole mess up seeings how she has the Fusion suit with the Metroid-like properties. So yea, I dunno where you came up with that 1. I still feel that a Fusion sequel has quite a few possibilities.

Lemme just set you up the scenario so we're all cool.

The first Metroid game, Samus' orders are as follows verbatim: "Emergency order: Defeat the Metroid of the planet Zebeth and destroy the Mother Brain, the mechanical life vein." Forgetting how badly written that sentence is, Samus' primary objective is to destroy all the Metroids on Zebes. She completes that objective; no Metroids on Zebes are left alive. Supposed extermination one.

The Galactic Federation then discovers more Metroids on the remote planet SR388. They send Samus, and she exterminates all Metroids except one, which is taken back to the Ceres research station. Metroid is captured, Samus embarks on a necessary short-order mission to retrieve it before the Space Pirates can replicate it. Lone surviving Metroid is killed in the battle with Mother Brain. Supposed extermination two.

After that, Samus becomes embroiled in the Bottle Ship fiasco with the Galactic Federation. Adam sacrifices his life so that a new, genetically-altered Metroid strain with cold immunity is destroyed. Supposed extermination three.

Later on, Samus then becomes involved in the BSL incident. Late in that missions it's revealed that the Federation was once again trying to turn Metroids into bioweapons. SA-X detaches secret Metroid research lab into space and detonates it. Samus then defeats a single Omega Metroid before impacting the entire ship into SR388. Supposed extermination four.

They've been killed off four times so far and brought back every time, I don't know why that precludes us from having sequels.

LOL! I already gave you the breakdown of the story, Samus' objective in Metroid 1 was to destroy the pirates NIOT the Metroids. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6y7bXVIfM3A) That was Metroid 2, which if you recall, she walks up to and finds the hatching, so no "supposed" extermination there, either.. And In Super Metroid, the researchers gave her NO means to get rid of the hatchling (however MotherBrain killed it and they don't really explain how they could salvage anything of it), so it clearly wouldn't be the case with Fusion either. Now, i don't really remember other M too well, but wasn't there a Metroid becoming a queen involved there that they weren't intending on destroying or was never killed of? Either way, what stops them there from using what they had left of the hatchling to save Samus from the X parasites in Fusion? And as I said, because she carries like properties, i see no reason why there can't be a Fusion sequel.

@DaveGX The Queen Metroid in Other M was used to replicate more Metroids for experimentation. It was simply used as a breeding device.

I never said there couldn't be a Fusion sequel. I just think your assertion that Samus is the only one carrying any remnants of the Metroids is not based in reality, as the Galatic Federation has shown time and again that they have the ability to clone Metroids. I think this actually increases the likelihood of a Fusion sequel, by the way, but you had to go on a tangent about how I don't know what I'm talking about, so thank you for that.

If they could clone Metroids, then they could clone Samus.
Galatic Federation make an army of Super Sexy Evil Samus clones!
And after they are done cloning Samus, they try to get rid of her since they can't have the real Samus killing bunch of her evil sexy clones.

But what if the clones revolt against the Galactic Federation? With the real Samus gone. who will save them?

Galactic Federation will have full control over the Samus clones,
like how they use to have full control over Samus in Other:M.
I still think they had Samus brain wash in MO:M, its the only way the story makes sense!

Samus was reluctant to take orders from Adam. The reason she did so is because she wanted to help the team with their mission, and the only way to do that was to listen to Adam.

In the fact that Nintendo seems to re-use everything they have to make money, yes. I.E. Ocarina of Time (First appearance: N64, Second appearance: GameCube - pre-order bonus for the Wind Waker, Third appearance: WiiWare, Fourth appearance: 3DS - And no, just because there are new levels on the 3DS and the bonus was the Master Quest does not make them new games), MarioKart (Honestly, what is new from game to game except from the leap from the SNES to N64 and the N64 to GameCube. Since the DS every game is the same except for some gimmick) Super Mario 64 DS, All of the "New Play Controls" games on the Wii from the GameCube, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES & Four Swords Adventure - Close enough to be the same game), Super Smash Bros (What really changes except the graphics and a few gimmicky mini-games? Yes, they added Snake and Sonic)
When is the last time Nintendo create a new IP? I honestly do not remember? It could be that I haven't played them so I do not know.
