I'd say Madworld and, if you don't have have them on Gamecube, DK Jungle Beat and Pikmin 1 + 2 in the New Play Control edition.

Praise the Sun, and Mario too.

Arc Rise Fantasia or Rune Factory Frontier if you like RPG's

Resident Evil 4 seems to be the biggest one you're missing.

You've got just about everything....
Lost in Shadow, Sonic Colors, Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space: Extraction (if you're into that) are the only ones I would add that haven't been mentioned.

Nice list of games you have there.

I would also add Fragile Dreams and the Conduit 2 to that list.

I'd also recommend "A boy and his blob".

That is a pretty conclusive list you have there!

I'd suggest taking a look at De Blob. It's not up there with greats, but it's a pretty fun game in a genre that is surprisingly rare on the Wii.

I loved that game!

If you are in the USA.

Data East Arcade Classics
Excitebots Trick Racing
Castle of Shikigami 3
Ultimate Shooting Collection (I got 2 but region free is easier on a Wii than Wii U and less risky).

If you are in PAL
Disaster Day of Crisis

Anywhere
Ghost Squad
Kororipa
Nights : Journey of Dreams
House of the Dead : Overkill
Warioware : Smooth Moves
Bully : Scholarship Edition
Links Crossbow Training

Beyond what has been mentioned:
Silent Hill Shattered Memories
House of the Dead Overkill
Dawn of Discovery

And even though they will be available on newer systems, RE4: Wii Edition is my favorite version and I'm extremely skeptical that the remaster REmake will be superior to the RE Archives version (what they've shown so far looks inferior to me, par for many of Capcom HD remasters.)

I'll have more recs later when I have time to properly overuse my collection. I also want to point out that there are quite a few Wii VC and WiiWare games that are only available through those services that I wouldn't want to miss out on.

Some of these will depend on your taste in games (that is, not "must play" for everyone) but they are all excellent games that are totally worth owning:

  • Trauma Center/Team series
  • Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
  • The Sky Crawlers
  • Shaun White Snowboarding (both games are solid and great reasons to pull out your Balance Board)
  • Resident Evil: Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles
  • Rabbids Go Home
  • Fishing Resort
  • Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon
  • Endless Ocean series
  • Dawn of Discovery
  • Boom Blox series
  • Bit.Trip Complete

Also want to mention three games that are very cool, but very niche and probably won't appeal to most people:

  • Dragon Quest Swords - Ever wanted to play an on-rails shooter with RPG elements? If you go in with appropriate expectations and don't hate motion controls then it's pretty cool!
  • Dokapon Kingdom - Very odd party game that requires a high investment from players but provides a lot of depth and value if your friends do get into it.
  • BlastWorks: Build, Trade, Destroy - Kenta Cho shooters are always welcome in my book; great editing tools and a bunch of top-notch unlockable games make this an easy recommendation for shmup fans.

Edit: Tried not to repeat many previously listed games, but ACK beat me to a few of these recommendations by a few minutes.

Yoshi

I second Dokapon Kingdom if you and some friends are willing to invest the time to play it. It's a huge time sink, but well worth it if you go through with it.

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

Octane

You might want to try:

  • Monster Hunter Tri (but you might as well get Ultimate on the U)
  • Elebits (NTSC)
  • Link's Crossbow Training
  • Pikmin 1 & 2 New Play Control! (if you haven't played the original games on the NGC)
  • Animal Crossing: City Folk
  • Spectrobes: Origins

I haven't played MadWorld myself yet, but it seems to be a pretty underrated game as well.

Can you guys tell me which of those suggested games DON'T require motion controls? I've been meaning to do the same thing as the OP, since I never owned a Wii, but motion controls have been a huge deal breaker for almost every game I tried.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'll incorporate this into my OP so the list is complete

Well, basically every game has been said. I have one more though: Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. The reviews may not have been kind, but it's easily one the best games in the series.

Worth mentioning that a bunch of the later additions (mine included) probably don't meet the standards of the original list. They might end up being personal or cult favorites, just not universal "must play" titles.

For example, I wouldn't recommend any of these games:
Conduit 2
Nights : Journey of Dreams
Data East Arcade Classics
Spectrobes: Origins

For me, they weren't good enough to own... and I own 180+ Wii games, so that's saying something. Of course that's also just one opinion, and I know that many others would differ with my tastes.

Too bad there's no good way to make a poll where people could vote "yes", "no", "haven't played" for all the games listed. That would be a fun way to see the general reaction for each game when talking about these hidden gems.
