Hi, I recently bought a French console and staying in the UK, the plug is obviously going to need changed. I'm wondering if changing the 2-pin EU plug to a 3 pin UK plug (on both the console and pad) will annul the warranty? Any help is greatly appreciated, cheers!

That looks fine, but if you're really concerned you can just buy a UK power supply from Nintendo or another retailer (just make sure it's an official one). The nice thing about the Nintendo consoles (unlike my old Playstation) is that the power supply is external, making importing a lot easier.

Hi, thanks for the response. I have looked into that, however, paying for an official Nintendo one would kinda make me buying a French one pointless as I bought an EU one because I got it £70 cheaper than i would have had i bought a UK one. I'd also have to purchase one for the pad too. Don't want to use 3rd party powerbricks either as I once got one for my 360 years ago and it was rubbish.

I think I'll just go with those adaptors until the warranty runs out and then fit UK plugs on both cables once I have nothing to lose.

Yeah the adapter shouldn't be a problem, I would think a European power supply should work fine in the UK though there's a slightly higher voltage tolerance here. I think the worst thing you'd face is blowing your Euro power supply, but since you imported it, you'd expect to just buy yourself a new brick anyway.

Going the other way would be more awkward since the UK plugs are so massive I expect the thing would be falling out of the wall all the time!
