The idiotic thing is, if Capcom, Konami and others actually made good games for Nintendo systems (unlike Capcom hiring other people to make their Nintendo games or Konami just not supporting at all) then more people would buy Nintendo systems. People buy playstation or xbox because of games like Metal Gear Solid or... whatever other games those systems get. If Capcom put as much money and effort into making games for Nintendo systems, then people would be talking about how great the Nintendo systems are. It's not about how good the hardware is, it's about what software you have available. Nintendo sells enough great first party software that they can stay alive, but they're not going to appease the mass gamers unless they get those big name games.

Sony and Microsoft have to be paying these developers and publishers to continuously screw Nintendo over and over again. Playstation gets successful Castlevania games and the Wii got... a fighting game? Who the $!#% asked for a Castlevania fighting game? And then they don't give us good games because we don't buy their crappy games. Why do Nintendo gamers have to jump through hoops to get good games and then don't even get the good games even if we do buy the crappy ones? It's insane. Playstation and xbox players don't have to go through that crap. Just automatically, they get Resident Evil 5 and 6. The Wii got... two arcade light gun games. Again, who the $!#% asked for an arcade light gun version of Resident Evil? These guys are the game developers. They're the ones that help define a system (as a system would not be the same without its third party support). They're the ones making these crappy games and then blaming the consumers for them not making a good game instead. It's just ludicrous. How can this even be happening?

It should be pointed out that every third party that has released 2 or more "AAA" titles on the wii u has at the same time given it 3 to 6 pieces of crap. While I am happy Ubi is releasing some good games with Ninty I can't help but wonder if they factor the sales of Smurfs 2, ESPN:Sports connection or Marvel Avengers:Battle for Earth when they say the Wii U is getting one last chance because it isn't profitable. Or if they think about the Assassins Creed trilogy set they released for 60 on ps3/xbox only months after the wii u received Assassins Creed 3 for 60?

Warner Bros gave us game party champions. I believe this site gave it a 1/10. (just another example)

So how many 3rd party games are supporting Wii U but have features missing that the other consoles are getting (like DLC or stuff like that) I heard the Wii U version of COD ghosts won't have local multiplayer like the other consoles. I just want to know why they do this? why do they release a game for the Wii U but they don't want to fully support it with extra features. Does offering DLC on the Wii U cost too much money or something?

The local co-op thing is an easy patch fix. I'm not a fan of COD but hopefully they will do one for the sake of Wii U owners. It's almost like they are trying to force Nintendo to buy up studios just so their fans can get proper releases.

Although it's unfortunate about the 3rd party mess with the Wii U, it is entirely understandable. It isn't a case of: 'there are 4 million Wii U owners who want to buy the 3rd party FPS', or even 'there are 1 million out of 4 million Wii U owners who want to buy the 3rd party FPS', it's really: 'There are 4 million Wii U owners, 3 million of those own an Xbox or a PS3 or both, and of the remaining million who don't own the other consoles, only 50,000 want the game. If the rest wanted a FPS, they would own a PS3 or Xbox'.

To say the Wii U needs 3rd party support is incorrect- most sales of multiplatform titles will go to the other 2 consoles unless the Wii U's unique selling points are used well in the game. The PS3 and Xbox 360 have much better online and install bases. The Wii U is as much as a NEXT TO as a NEXT GEN console- it sit NEXT to another console that doesn't have Mario and Zelda on it. What the Wii U really needs is EXCLUSIVE 3rd party games to drum up sales- just like it needs EXCLUSIVE Nintendo titles. A few more like Wonderful 101, Lego City, Sonic, Monster Hunter, Bayonetta 2, Xenoblade, and Zombie U would go a long way to selling more consoles.

If only it was that easy!

Konami still has yet to do a single thing on the Wii U. They never released a Wii U game or even a Wii U VC game yet.

Rest in Peace ShiftyLook
I keep these Nintendo Life threads updated: Missing 3DS VC and Wii U VC between regions, Full of list first party Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Gear games missing from the 3DS VC, and Full of list first party Game Boy Advance games missing from the Wii U VC.

Capcom put out Monster hunter for the Wii U which is one of the few third party titles on the system that has generated any interest. That's something.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Out of these I'm most bummed about Kingdom Hearts III and not totally convinced by Square Enix's excuses. Also Thief as I loved those games but I'll get most of these on PC anyway.

I'd definitively buy Thief, Doom 4, and Elder Scrolls Online if they ever came on the Wii U. Sadly, I don't think that Elder Scrolls Online would work to well. Maybe a single player would buy fine since it wouldn't rely too much of plentiful of sales. Could you imagine a game just like Morrowind or Skyrim on the Wii U!

I'm FURIOUS about Kingdom Hearts 3... I wouldn't have been as angry, had Square released it exclusively for the PS4 (although I probably still would have been disappointed). But releasing it on the Xbone?!?! That's a complete slap to the face!

Even more when you consider that Square Enix made the KH3D a nintendo Exclusive and even said it would link KH2 to KH3.

The PS4 & XBO are so similar, that it probably just costs a lot less to port it to XBO from PS4, than it would to port it to Wii U.

The only thing on these companies' minds is profit. If a game isn't coming to a particular platform (or a platform is getting a less featured version), it's all because they don't think they'd make profit otherwise. It's not some crackpot conspiracy against Nintendo. Their job isn't to "define" a console, nor is it to sell consoles. They're job is to make money, and if their highly skilled professionals don't think they'll make money on a particular console (that just so happens to be Wii U right now), then tough luck. You're just going to have to wait until Nintendo moves enough consoles for them to consider it worthwhile.

EDIT: the second paragraph wasn't necessarily targeted towards you, @GustavoSF, but more towards the overall sentiments I've seen in this thread.

Or until profits on PS4 and Xbox One are below expectations and they need to bring their games to the Wii U. It might coincide post this holiday season.

Hmm yeah I'm not sure about ES:O but Doom and especially Thief could work well. That Elder Scrolls collection coming to PC would be great. I've said it a million times but I truly think the Gamepad could offer the best controls for WRPGs outside of PC.

Exactly, WHY Xbox One, well I know why but still that one hurt the most out of all the games not announced for Wii U. Also, KH games usually have new gameplay elements. Imagine what gameplay options they could have had if ported to Wii U. Oh well...

It's true, the Wii U does need third party exclusives that are built for the ground up to take advantage of the uniqueness of the Wii U. But unless Nintendo forges exclusivity deals then this won't happen because the Wii U's sales are pitiful and third parties are out to make a profit. Nintendo needs to bring out their core first party games to boost sales and entice third parties to make games for it. Also it's not like the Wii U is only missing out on FPSs which are dependant on a solid online? What is the excuse for the other titles skipping it over?

Yes. Exactly. The Wii U needs great third party exclusive titles.

But multiplatform games need to be fully supported on Wii U as well.
