While I don't own it yet (will buy it after I get paid), I can confirm that the 3DS version is incredible and fully deserving of your money.

Currently Playing: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (SD)

I got the 3DS version. I love the stereoscopic 3D and it's a great game for short play sessions so I'm happy with my choice.

I got both and beat both. Amazing game.

I am planning to get it on Wii U. Besides the big screen and controller choice, you get the Deluxe Digital Promotion credit. And since it expires in six months, I want to take advantage of it while it lasts.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

Does anyone know when the battle mode, gender swap, and other extra features are going to be patched in?

Check out my YouTube channel if you love gaming, and Nintendo (especially Metroid) I think you'll enjoy my videos. :)

Double dipping is a bit tough to swallow atm. Unless there are different content between the versions like Smash bros, I can't justify double dipping.

So far the Wii U seems to be the platform of choice!

Off the topic of the OP.... I doubled dipped with Resident Evil and Star Wars pinball.... I don't have any regrets doing it but I'm not sure that I'll do it again, even for Smash Bros. (tho I might end up taking the plunge there too).

I don't think it will either. And it doesn't really bother me. (It will bother me if in the future PS4/(Or PS3)/Vita gets it but Nintendo doesn't.)

I went with the Wii U version but if I really like it, I will double dip, because 3D effect and streetpass is too much to pass. But I might not like it that much.

I'll definitely be going with the 3DS version.
I never find time to play eShop games on my Wii U, but I love having them on my 3DS so I can just pull it out for a bit and play wherever I am.

Oh I'm definitely double dipping for Smash bros since they have different content! But for Shovel knight they both have the exact same content which is why double dipping is very hard to swallow...

No harm being optimistic no?
